Jean Gertrude Strong (1933 ~ 2001)
5.3.4.1.7. Seventh child of Effie V. Adams and David G. Strong, Jean Gertrude Strong, was born May 23, 1933, in Cartwright Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
She married Albert Norman Knapp, son of Oliver Wesley Knapp and Nellie Miriam Turner Reeves, November 17, 1951, in Clarke Twp., Durham Co., Ontario and had three children:

Jean G. Strong Knapp died April 9, 2001, aged 67 years in Dunsford, Ontario and Albert N. Knapp died September 11, 2007, aged 83 years, in Lindsay, Ontario and are interred at Riverside Cemetery.

Jean G. Knapp (nee Strong) entered into rest at home on Monday, April 9, 2001, in her 68th year. Beloved wife of Albert N. Knapp for 50 years. Loving mother of Helen Boyd and Siete deWolde, Allan Knapp and Terry Knapp. Grandmother of Craig Boyd and his wife Jena, Angela Boyd and Adam Boyd. Great-grandmother of Jessica and Tyler Boyd. Predeceased by her parents George and Effie Strong, sister Mary Brown, and brothers Bill, Dave and Jim Strong. Jean is survived by her sister Vera McKay and brother Roy Strong and his wife Leona. Jean’s family will receive friends at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, April 12th at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. Albert Norman Knapp entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at the age of 83. Albert was the beloved husband of the late Jean Strong. Loving father of Terry Knapp and his wife Cathy, Allan Knapp and stepfather of Julia Grimes. Cherished grandfather of Jodie Huber, Dana Hallhead and the late Adam Boyd. Survived by his sisters Lois Moore and Kate Prescott. Visitation at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. Memorial donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #67, Lindsay and visiting comrades are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 3:45 p.m. for a service at 4 p.m. Lindsay Post, Sept. 14, 2007.
