Murray Oliver Knapp  (1923 ~ 1988)

 

5.3.4.2.2. Second child of Elsie M. Adams and William H. Knapp, Murray Oliver Knapp, was born August 8, 1923, in Manvers Twp., Durham Co., Ontario. 

  He married Claudette Jacqueline Pichie, daughter of Joseph Louis Thomas Pichie and Eleonor Tremblay, September 14, 1945, in Lindsay, Ontario and had three children:

 

  • (5.3.4.2.2.1)  Marie Lorraine  (1945 ~ 1992)

  • (5.3.4.2.2.2)  Edith Ruth  (1947 ~ )

  • (5.3.4.2.2.3)  Charles Murray  (1951 ~ 1998)

 

  Murray O. Knapp died April 12, 1988, aged 65 years in Lindsay, Ontario and Claudette J. Pichie Knapp passed March 3, 2010, aged 80 years, in Oshawa, Ontario and are interred at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Murray O. Knapp

The family of the late Murray Knapp wish to sincerely thank friends, neighbours and G.M. co-workers, for their support, visits, kindness shown and all the food that was brought in during and after the loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Special thank you to Archie Menzies, Bruce and Brent Knapp for all their help. We would also like to thank the Home Care Program of Haliburton, Kawartha and Pine Ridge District Health Unit. Special thanks to Michelle and Bev from the V.O.N. and Archie MacIntryre from the Palliative Care program, for their tender and loving care.

Claudette J. Pichie Knapp

April 5, 1929 ~ March 3, 2010

Peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Claudette Jacqueline Knapp at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her husband Murray, special companion David Dainard, son Charlie and daughter Marie (Dupe). Loving mother of Edith. Dear sister of Emmett, Joyce, Doris and Elizabeth. Cherished Nan of 7 and Great Nan of 7. Claudette will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many close family and friends. A service celebrating Claudette’s life was held in the chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Saturday March 6, 2010 at 1 p.m.

Marie L. Knapp Dupe

December 12, 1945 ~ March 22, 1992

In Nova Scotia, on Sunday, March 22, 1992, Marie Lorraine Dupe (nee Knapp) in her 47th year. Beloved wife of Douglas Dupe, Sr. of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Daughter of Claudette Knapp of Oshawa and the late Murray. Dear mother of Douglas of Bowmanville and Richie of Orono. Sister of Edith Brown of Oshawa and Charles Knapp of Vancouver, B.C. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E., Oshawa with funeral service complete in the chapel on Friday, March 27 at 3 p.m. Spring interment Orono Cemetery. Douglas Dupe

June 17, 1939 ~ October 17, 2009

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Dupe on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

  Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Robert and Susan (Parsons) Dupe.

  Doug is survived by his sons, Ritchie (Penny) and Douglas (Noreen), both of Ontario; sisters, Beatrice (Eric) Barkhouse, Western Shore, Frances MacNeil (Sonny), Albert Bridge; brothers, Harvey (Jean) Dupe and Gordon Dupe, both of Sydney; as well as two precious grandchildren, Breanna and Brenden.

  Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Knapp) Dupe, siblings, Carmella Pierre, Gerald and Bobby.

  Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 in the chapel with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Burial to follow in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone.

  Donations may be made to the VON and the Cape Breton Palliative Care.

Charles M. Knapp

July 26, 1951 ~ May 25, 1998

Suddenly entered into rest on Monday, May 25, 1998, at Surrey, British Columbia. Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery at Lindsay, Ontario, with a private family graveside service on June 5, 1998.

  Charlie was the dear son of Claudette Knapp and the late Murray Knapp, of Oshawa. Dear father of Carrieann of Courtice, Lonny of Toronto; brother of Edith Brown of Oshawa; sister of the late Marie Dupe of Nova Scotia and former husband of Heather Knapp of Oshawa. May he rest in peace. Funeral Card.
