5.3.4.2.4. Fourth child of Elsie M. Adams and William H. Knapp, Clifford Elmer Knapp, was born July 28, 1927, in Lotus, Manvers Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
He married Marjorie Alice Hanthorn, daughter of Bruce Edgar Hanthorn and Margaret Beatrice Glenn, April 22, 1950, in Courtice, Ontario and had seven children:

Clifford E. Knapp died April 14, 2009, aged 81 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and Marjorie A. Hanthorn Knapp died March 12, 1999, aged 66 years in Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

On Saturday, April 22, 1950, Marjorie Alice Hanthorn became the bride of Clifford Elmer Knapp in a quiet ceremony by Rev. H. F. Yardley, at the parsonage at Courtice.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, looked lovely in a blue crepe dress with matching blue lace bodice and sleeves, white picture hat, white shoes and gloves and rose corsage. She was attended by her sister Helen in a grey dress and grey accessories and matching corsage.
The groom was attended by Mr. Fred Sheehan of Bowmanville. The parents also attended.
The couple will reside in Bowmanville.
The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Hanthorn. Bowmanville Statesman, Apr. 27, 1950.

Clifford E. Knapp Britton
Clifford Elmer Knapp passed away peacefully after a long battle with lung cancer at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in his 82nd year. Clifford was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Hanthorn. Proud and loving father of Karen (Garry) Turner, Deb (Pete) Jackson, Dale (Julie) Knapp, Kevin (Donna) Knapp, Stephen (Kim) Knapp, and Noel (Deanna) Knapp. Cherished grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 8. Predeceased by son Bruce and grandson Daniel. Fondly remembered by many family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 347 Lindsay Street South, Lindsay on Monday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation or Lakeridge Health Bowmanville would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay. Suddenly as the result of an accident on Friday, March 12, 1999. Marjorie A. Knapp aged 66 years. Beloved wife of Clifford Knapp. Dear mother of Karen and Garry Turner; Debbie and Peter Jackson; Dale and Julie Knapp; Kevin and Donna Knapp; Stephen and Kim Knapp; Noel and the late Bruce. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and one great grandchild. Dear sister of Helen Sheehan, Gloria Smith, Aisla Voss, Vi Weirmier, Bob Hanthorn, Leona Browning and the late Keith. Visitation was held at the Northcutt Funeral Home, 58 Division St. N., Bowmanville, 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service was held in the chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday. Cremation.
