5.3.4.2.7. Seventh child of Elsie M. Adams and John J. McCullough, Earl James Strong (ne McCullough), was born February 28, 1942, in Manvers Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
He married Mavis Lynn Jackett, daughter of Evelyn Pearl Jackett, March 24, 1961, in Hampton, Ontario and had six children:

Earl J. Strong died October 15, 1991, aged 49 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and Mavis L. Jackett Strong died August 14, 2017, aged 75 years, in Oshawa, Ontario and are interred at St. John’s Cemetery, Blackstock, Ontario.

At Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 15, 1991, Earl Strong of Burketon in his 50th year. Beloved husband of Mavis Jackett. Dear father of Sherry and her husband Glenn, Jim and his wife Janet, Sharon and Warren, Jeff and Debbie, Paul and Earl, Jr. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Resting at the Northcutt-Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral service in the chapel 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment St. John’s Cemetery, Blackstock. Bowmanville Statesman, Oct. 23, 1991.

Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, August 14th, 2017.
Wife of the late Earl Strong. Dear mother of Sherry (Glen) Swain, Jim (Angie) Strong, Sharon (Warren) Louey, Jeff (Rene) Strong, Paul Strong and Earl (Janice) Strong. She will be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear friend & companion of Bill Britton.
At Mavis’ request, no visitation or service will be held. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to a Charity of your Choice.

Passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the age of 48 years. Dearly beloved husband of Janice Hoy. Proud and loving father of Blake, Brock, and Brody. Survived by his siblings Sherry Swain (Glen), Jimmy (Angie), Sharon Louey (Warren), Jeff (Rene), Paul, and Clyde Catton. Dear Son of the late Earl and Mavis Strong. Son-in-law of Stan Hoy (late Alice). Will be sadly missed by all the Strong and Hoy families. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Earl, was a fireman, hero, and friend who will be missed by many. As per Earl’s wishes, the family is having a “Celebration of Life” gathering to share fond memories and libations at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #43 (471 Simcoe St. S. Oshawa) on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Courtice Funeral Chapel 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484), on Monday, January 29th, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Bucko – Burn camp for kids in Ontario.
