5.3.4.7. Seventh child of Martha J. Adams and R. Wesley Fowler, Joseph Frederick Fowler, was born October 9, 1919, in Manvers Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
He married Myrtle Ethelyn Smyth, daughter of Thomas Langford Smyth and Clara Elvira Thompson, October 15, 1938, in Peterborough, Ontario and had three children:

J. Frederick Fowler died October 23, 1958, aged 39 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and is interred at Pontypool Cemetery, Pontypool, Ontario and Myrtle E. Smyth Fowler Bird died April 6, 1997, aged 77 years in Cobourg, Ontario and is interred at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough, Ontario.

J. Frederick Fowler
The death occurred suddenly on Thursday, October 23, 1958 at the residence, 10 Bradshaw St., Bowmanville, of Joseph (Fred) Fowler, aged 39.
He had been ill for only two days and was stricken with a massive heart attack.
Mr. Fowler had been unemployed since his accident in March 1955. He lived in Peter-borough before moving to Bowmanville in August 1948.
Born in Manvers Township, October 9, 1919, he married the former Myrtle Ethelyn Smith of South Monaghan in October 1938, who survives him. He is also survived by his three children, Joan, Katheline and Willis; his father, Wesley Fowler, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; three brothers, Albert of Campbellford, Elmer of Bowmanville, and James of Sault Ste. Marie; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Mae) Scott, Toronto, and Mrs. Albert (Myrtle) Pearce, Newcastle; also one half-sister, Mrs. Lorne (Elsie) Strong of Lotus, Ont.
The body rested at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville and funeral service was held Monday, October 27 at 2 p.m. Interment was at Pontypool Cemetery. The pall-bearers, Lorne Strong, Harvey Strong, Ed Strong, Henry Strong, Ed Fowler and Gilbert Fowler were all cousins of the deceased.
Flower bearers were five nephews, Earl Strong, Murray Knapp, Clifford Knapp, Dan Knapp and Stanley McCullough, also two half-brothers, James Terry and Milton Terry. Bowmanville Statesman, Nov. 13, 1958.

At Streamway Villa Nursing Home, Cobourg on Sunday, April 6, 1997, Myrtle (Fowler) Bird, aged 77 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack Bird and Fred Fowler. Dear mother of Joan, Kay Terry and Willis Fowler. Loving grandmother of Anne, Kate, Andrew, Steven, Candy, Patti, Dedee, David and the late Jon. Great-grandmother of Amanda, Jason and Jonathon. After a lengthy illness, Milton Edward Terry (Mechanic at the Oshawa Fire Dept.) on Monday, July 6, 1998 at home in Cobourg. Milton, beloved husband of 38 years to Katheline (Fowler). Loving father of Andrew and his wife Tammy, Steven and his wife Stefanie, Candy and her husband Rob Craig, Patti and her husband Rick O’Neill, Jim Lyon and his wife Rose. Dear grandfather of Connor. Will be sadly missed by a brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Willis Joseph Westley Fowler, at Lakeridge Health Whitby on Sunday, September 10, 2000. Loving father of Dieatra and David Fowler. Cherished grandfather of Brady. Survived by his sisters Joan Fowler and Katheline Terry. A memorial service will be held at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville on Friday at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. At Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville (Lakeridge Health) Nellie Fowler, after a long and courageous battle with her illness on Monday, January 18, 1999 at the age of 66 years. Nellie, daughter of the late Mary and Peter Kostiuk. Beloved wife of Willie Fowler. Very special and loving “mother” of Brenda Pietrzyk and her husband Steve. Loving “grandmother” of Matthew. Dear sister of Pauline (Mrs. Tony Laroque), of Saskatoon, Victor Kostiuk and his wife Jean of Windsor, Albert Kostiuk and his wife Sarah of Florida, Gloria (Mrs. Attilio Castellan) of Toronto, Patricia (Mrs. Jack Stewart) of Whitby and the late Eva Nelson, Sylvester and Joanie. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
