Charles Henry Adams  (1914 ~ 2000)

 

5.3.6.1. First child of James H. Adams and Gertrude M. Wotten, Charles Henry Adams, was born January 11, 1914, in Burketon, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario. 

  He married Verna Isobel Cochrane, daugher of George Samuel Cochrane and Mary Susanna Knapp, January 8, 1938, in Hampton, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario and had three children:

  • (5.3.6.1.2)  Brian Charles  (1946 ~ 2022)

  • (5.3.6.1.3)  Joan Elizabeth  (1948 ~ )

 

  C. Henry Adams died December 17, 2000, aged 86 years and Verna I. Cochrane Adams died January 30, 1976, aged 58 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and are interred at Hampton Union Cemetery.

Surrounded by his family, age 86 years, Charles Henry Adams, quietly and peacefully went to be with his Lord at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Sunday, December 17, 2000. Beloved husband of the late Verna Cochrane. Dear father of Bruce & Diane Adams; Brian & Tilly Adams and Joan & Garry Ormiston. Loving grandfather of Bradley, Kevin, Jeff, Todd, Tanya, Matthew & Aaron and great-grandfather of Kelsey, Emilie, Carlie, Amber, Sadie and Brandon. Dear brother of Marjorie Gray, Lawrence Adams, Jean Fallis, Helen McDonald, Ruth Cowle and the late Dorothy Lethangue. Visitation at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Tuesday. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Pentecostal Church. Interment Hampton Cemetery. Verna I. Cochrane Adams

October 18, 1917 ~ January 30, 1976

A former R.N.A. at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Verna Isobel Adams, aged 58, died on Friday, January 30, 1976, in Memorial Hospital, following an illness of approximately two years.           

  Born and educated in Enfield, she was the daughter of the late George Samuel and the late Mary Susanna (Knapp) Cochrane. On January 8, 1938 she married Charles Henry Adams. A resident of Bowmanville at 67 Temperance St. for 18 years, she had previously resided in Hampton.

  Retiring for two years due to ill health, she was a member of the Pentecostal Church, and the ladies W.M.C. group.

  A devoted wife and mother, her interests centred mainly around her home, family, church and friends.

  Left to mourn her passing are her husband, sons Bruce and Brian, a daughter Joan (Mrs. Bruce Thertell), five grandchildren, three brothers, Russell and Leslie of Burketon and Ivan of Blackstock. She was predeceased by one sister and six brothers.

  Rev. Donald Rogers officiated at the funeral service held on Monday at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. A sister-in-law Helen McDonald sang a favourite solo of the deceased.

  Pallbearers were nephews Donald, Glen and Ralph Cochrane, Gerald McDonald, John Lethangue and David Fallis.

  Floral tributes were received from Local 222 Shop Committee, Oshawa, Pentecostal Church, Electrolux Canada, Ltd., and from all the boys in the “A” Body Shop, General Motors.

  Temporary interment was in Orono Vault with spring burial in Hampton Cemetery. Bowmanville Statesman, Feb. 18, 1976.

 

Lillian Stephens Quackenbush Adams

February 12, 1913 ~ March 9, 2002

Lillian Adams (Quackenbush) (nee Stephens) in her 90th year - At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Saturday, March 9, 2002. Dear mother of Lorraine and Charles Albin; Grace and David Aszbach; Rose Marie and Allen Pothiers; Joyce and Jim Dilling and Jane and Brian Cascagnette. August 16, 1943 ~ November 11, 2008

Passed away suddenly at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, Bruce Adams, aged 65 years. 

  Beloved husband of Diane (Hallman). Dear father of Bradley, Kevin (Shelley) and Jeffery (Natasha). Loving grandfather of Brandon, Ashley, Amanda, Kristi, Kelsey, Emilie, Karlie, Jaida, Raianne. Dear brother of Brian & Tilly Adams and Joan & Garry Ormiston. Uncle to Matthew, Aaron, Todd and Tanya. Son-in-law to Gertrude Muzik. Son of the late Henry and Verna Adams.

Brian C. Adams

May 12, 1946 ~ May 20, 2022

Passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on May 20, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

  Beloved husband of Tilly (nee Woudstra). Dear father of Matthew and Aaron (Mallory). Loving Pappa to Deacon and Kazwell. Dear brother to Joan (Garry) Ormiston and the late Bruce Adams. Brother in law to Diane Adams, Ina Burgess, Dirk (Alison) Woudstra and Ev (Jack) Julicher. He will  be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

  Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street North on Wednesday May 25th from 6 – 8 pm.
