5.3.6.2. Second child of James H. Adams and Gerturde M. Wotten, Marjorie Eileen Adams, was born May 16, 1916, in Enfield, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
She married David Law Gray, son of Robert Alexander Gray and Mabel Law, July 9, 1938, in Bowmanville, Ontario and had two children:

Marjorie E. Adams Gray died February 13, 2007, aged 90 years in Bowmanville, Ontario and David L. Gray died May 11, 1980, aged 66 years, in Newcastle, Ontario and are interred at Bowmanville Cemetery.

On Saturday, July 9, 1938, a quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s manse, Bowmanville, by Rev. W. Franklin Banister, when Marjorie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Adams, Tyrone was united in marriage to David Gray, youngest son of Mrs. Gray and the late Robert Gray, Newcastle. Miss Betty Pringle and Alfred Gray, niece and nephew of the groom were the attendants. After the ceremony a small reception for the immediate families was held at the home of Mrs. E. Marjerrison, the groom’s sister. Mr. and Mrs. Gray will reside in Newcastle. Bowmanville Statesman, July 21, 1938.

Marjorie Gray. Age 90 years. Peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Beloved wife of the late David Gray. Dear mother of Carol Ann Gray and Allen David Gray & Susan Connors. Loving grandmother of Amber, Alyssa, David, Nathan, Lisa, Genna & Tristan. Loving great-grandmother of Nicholas. Dear sister of Jean Fallis, Helen McDonald, Ruth Cowle and the late Henry Adams, Dorothy Lethangue and Lawrence (Stout) Adams. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Thursday February 15th, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. David L. Gray
November 20, 1913 ~ May 11, 1980
The death of David Law Gray, occurred suddenly, at his late residence, R.R.2, Newcastle, on Sunday, May 11, 1980, in his 67th year.
Born at the Gray family homestead, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray, and was educated at Newcastle Public School and High Schools. On July 9, 1938 he was married to Marjorie Eileen Adams. They and his brother Frank resided on the family farm, carrying on the farm work, until retirement in 1973.
A farmer his entire life he was a member of Newcastle United Church, where he served on the Board of Stewarts, and was an elder at the time of his death. He was a member for 20 years of the Bowmanville Men's Canadian Club, where he was president in 1968, and assisted four other presidents in 1975.
He was very interested and active in helping to set up a parent council to start a School for the handicapped of the district this was succeeded after a long uphill period of time. The Crippled Children’s Centre, 760 Bloor St. E., Oshawa, he served as President of the Parent Council from 1959 to 1968.
He was a quiet family man with a fine characteristic manner and sense of humour, a kindly neighbor and friend gifted with many talents. He spent much time working at his favourite hobby refinishing furniture and caning chairs, and constructed many fine pieces of furniture.
He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers, Lola (Mrs. Norman Pingle), Marion (Mrs. E. L. Marjerrison), George, Arthur, Ken and Eric. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Marjorie, daughter Carol Anne Gray and Allen David Gray and brother Frank, nieces and nephews and mother-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude Adams. He was godfather of Miss Kimberly Medd, Pontypool, a niece, his pride and joy.
The funeral was held from the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Tuesday. The Rev. David Spivey officiated.
Pallbearers were close friends and neighbors, George Buckley, Albert Pearce, George Graham, Alfred Graham, John Rickard and Richard Wicha. Floral tokens from neighbors, church and family and many generous donations to the Participation House Project Durham Legion and Ontario Heart Foundation very much appreciated, in his memory.

A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill Street S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Monday, May 9, at 12:00 noon, with visiting from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. David Chisling, B.A., B.Ed., M.Div., officiating.
Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.
