Ernest Albert Winch  (1923 ~ 2010)

 

5.3.8.6. Sixth child of E. Maude Adams and Richard W. Winch, Ernest Albert Winch, was born November 14, 1923, in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan. 

  He married Brenda Dorothy Joyce Bunting, daughter of Mr. Bunting and Miss Smith, October 12, 1946, in London, England, U.K. and had five children:

  Ernest A. Winch died May 2, 2010, aged 86 years, and Brenda D. Bunting Winch died August 24, 2012, aged 83 years in Ottawa, Ontario.

Ernest A. Winch

November 14, 1923 ~ May 2, 2010

Ernest AlbertDickWinch, age 86 years, late of Ottawa, formerly of Eyebrow and Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2010. Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brenda, daughters Linda Morrison, Wendy Winch, and Denyse Winch of Ottawa, and Shirley Gardner of Medicine Hat; six grand-children and eight great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Clifford and Elmer, sisters Irma and (his twin) Evelyn; and an infant daughter Jacalyn. Dick served in the Armed Forces in the RCASC from 1943 until 1947. He worked as a supervisor for the Dept. of Highways until retiring in 1982. Following Cremation in Ottawa, Dick will be buried in the Veteran’s Section in the Eyebrow Cemetery at a later date. Brenda D. Bunting Winch

January 28, 1929 ~ August 24, 2012

Brenda Dorothy Joyce Winch (nee Bunting), age 83 years, late of Ottawa ON, formerly of Eyebrow and Moose Jaw SK, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2012. Brenda is survived by her daughters Linda Morrison, Shirley Winch, Wendy Winch and Denyse Winch of Ottawa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister Molly Hatfield of Wales; and many other extended family members. She is predeceased by Ernest (Dick) Winch, her husband of 63 years; an infant daughter Jacalyn; brothers Frank and Brian, sisters Myra and Betty; and her parents. Brenda was born in England and survived the London Blitz, an experience which affected her deeply. She came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride at the age of seventeen. She quickly grew to love the Saskatchewan prairies. She worked as a telephone operator, manning the switchboard in her home while she raised her family. She ran the group home in Herbert, SK for many years and was a strong advocate for people with disabilities. Brenda was politically active and marched in support of Medicare in 1962. She was a needle artist, knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting countless beautiful projects. She was a bird watcher, an animal lover, a choir member, a gardener, a classroom grandma and an active community volunteer. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church, Ottawa. ON at a later date followed by a private interment in Saskatchewan. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw SK, S6H 7K7. Shirley M. Winch

January 9, 1950 ~ September 12, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Winch on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 67. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Brenda Winch. She will be forever loved by her children Todd Gardner and Tisha (Troy) Clark; grandchildren Madison and Braydon Gardner, and Kyra and Sami Clark; sisters Linda (Bob) Morrison, Wendy Winch (Sam McBride) and Denyse Winch; niece Jodi Berget (Katie and Teagan Ramage); nephew Jeff Everett (Ava and Jaxon Everett) and niece Brittany Warren (Brad). As per Shirley’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Jacalyn F. Winch

May 8, 1957 ~ August 6, 1957

Jacalyn Faye Winch, three-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Winch of Eyebrow, died in local hospital Tuesday, [August 6, 1957].

  She is survived by her sisters, Linda, Shirley, and Wendy, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Winch of Eyebrow. Moose Jaw Times-Herald, Aug. 10, 1957.

 

Neil F. Warren

August 5, 1953 ~ July 27, 2010

Suddenly at home on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the age of 56. Born August 5, 1953 in Morro Vehlo, Brazil. Beloved husband of Denyse Warren (nee Winch). Dear father of Brittany (Brad Conrad). Beloved son of Ronald and Daphne Warren. Dear brother of Roy Warren (Gayle) and Mary Warren (Marc Lalonde). Fond uncle to Stephanie and Kayla. Neil will be missed dearly by Wendy and Sam and many other close friends. He was a proud firefighter who served the Ottawa area for 28 years.
