The bride, who was given away by her father, was becomingly attired in her traveling suit of navy blue broadcloth, the wedding march being played by the bride’s sister-in-law, Mrs. John Sinclair, Jr. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Marshall, of Holstein. The young couple took the afternoon train at Holstein to Toronto and thence to Oshawa to visit friends for a couple of weeks, after which they will begin housekeeping in West Luther. John Sinclair

January 15, 1959 ~ May 17, 1937

A former well-known pioneer resident of Yeovil district, John Sinclair, passed away in a Denver Hospital, May 17, 1937, aged 78 years. Moving to Denver, Colo., 15 years ago, he had been in failing health for about five years as the result of a stroke. He still took a keen interest in his many old home friends and also seemed to enjoy city life. Having a well stored mind, many of his invalid hours were spent in keeping in touch with current events. Five days previous to his death he fell on the pavement near his home, fracturing his hipbone. He was taken to hospital where in his condition nothing could be done as he soon lapsed into a coma and slept peacefully away.

Deceased was born on the old homestead, Con. 14, Lot 14, Egremont, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Sinclair, and is the last of his family. One brother, Hugh Sinclair, Yeovil, and one sister, Mrs. Alex. Calder, Mt. Forest, are predeceased.

Mr. Sinclair taught school for one year at Cedarville and two years at No. 8, Egremont. 56 years ago he was married to Miss Minnie Iles, and about this time they took over his uncle Allan Cameron's farm, Lot 13, where their four children were born, namely: one son, John, Hopeville; Isabella, the former Mrs. George Drimmie, who died 28 years ago, deeply mourned; Sadie, in Denver; Cynthia, who lived only three weeks. There are eight grandchildren.

The late Mr. Sinclair was a member and official of the former Yeovil Methodist Church, and being deeply interested in the Sunday School, was the superintendent for many years. He was a staunch supporter of every good cause. Many old friends will cherish the memory of his kindly nature. Interment was made at Denver. Mount Forest Confederate, May 27, 1937.
