----- MARRIAGE -----
Ferguson—Smith
On Wednesday, February 27, 1918, at the hour of 4 o’clock p.m. the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ferguson was the scene of a pretty wedding when their youngest daughter, Ida, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. John D. Smith of Arthur Twp. by Rev. S. H. Moyer. The bride was given away by her father, and was becomingly dressed in Shadow lace and was assisted through the ordeal by the sister of the groom, Miss Annie Smith, while the groom was supported by the bride’s brother, Erwin Ferguson. The wedding march was played in artistic style by Miss Ethel Smith. The groom’s gift to the bride was a wrist watch. After the tying of the nuptial knot the invited guests who were numerous, composed of friends and neighbors, sat down to an excellent spread of good things satisfying to the inner man. Many beautiful and costly gifts were given to the bride, proving the high esteem in which she was held. The evening was spent in music and games. At a seasonable hour the assembly departed, hoping and trusting the happy pair may live long to enjoy each other’s company along the journey of life. We also extend our hearties congratulations. Mount Forest Confederation, Mar. 7, 1918.
