He married Sheila June Graham, daughter of John Wendell Graham and Ruby Ethel McLean, September 10, 1952, Cedarville, Proton Twp., Grey Co., Ontario and had two children:

Cecil E. Smith died July 1, 2020, aged 88 years, and S. June Graham Smith died June 22, 2019, aged 84 years, in Mount Forest, Ontario.

Cecil Emerson Lincoln Smith of Mount Forest, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late June Smith (nee Graham) (2019). Loving father of Kathy and her husband Lyle Bender, and Debbie and her husband Bruce Witherow, all of Mount Forest. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly and her husband Sean MacMillan of Dundas, Kelly Bender of Kitchener, Kevin Bender and his wife Manda of Holstein, David Witherow and his wife Lydia Tietjen of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, and Paula and her husband Jeff VanKessel of Oshawa. Great-grandfather of eight. Dear brother of Sherman Smith and his wife Joyce of Guelph and brother-in-law of Marie Hansen and her husband Eric of Oshawa. Predeceased by his brother Vernon Smith and his wife Charlotte, sister Ilene Moore and her husband Wray, and brother-in-law George Graham and his wife Gladys. A private family service will be held with interment in Mount Forest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Louise Marshall Hospital would be appreciated by the family. The death occurred early Thursday morning, September 25, 1952, of Robert A. Graham at Shawville, Quebec, at the home of his daughter Gertrude (Mrs. Lloyd Connolly), with whom he had resided for the last few years.
The late Mr. Graham was born at Osceola, Ontario, on January 5, 1867, the son of the late William Graham and his wife Margaret Pappin. In 1896, he married Sarah Jane Kelley, who predeceased him in 1933. He farmed at Cobden, Ontario, until 1921, when he moved to the Erin-Caledon townline where he farmed until 1931 when he moved to Erin, where he resided until a few years ago.
He was the father of eleven children, ten of whom survive. They are six sons, Harold, Toronto; Arthur, Hamilton; Wendell, Conn; Irwin, Shawville; Edwin and Raymond at Exeter; and four daughters, Gertrude (Mrs. Lloyd Connolly), Shawville, Que.; Muriel (Mrs. Edmund Wylie), N. Tonawanda, N.Y.; Marjorie (Mrs. Frank Root), Erin; Jean (Mrs. George Dodge), Guelph. One son Fred, died in early childhood.
Twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
On Thursday evening a service was conducted at Shawville by the Rev. Dr. A. F. Foeks, after which the body was brought to Erin. On Saturday afternoon the funeral was conducted from the Weddell Funeral Home by the Rev. A. R. Muir of the Erin United Church. The deceased was borne to the grave by George Wilson, Gordon Root, and by four grandsons, Bob Graham, Bill Root, Cecil Smith and George Graham. The flowers were carried by others grandchildren Mrs. Jack Everdell, Mrs. Cecil Smith, Misses Olive Root, Jean Graham, Leanne Dodge, and Jimmy and Joe Graham. Interment took place in Blair’s Cemetery, Belfountain. Erin Advocate, Oct. 9, 1952.
