At the residence of the bride’s father, West Luther, at 4 o’clock p.m. on September 26, 1906, the marriage of Miss Mary Jane (Minnie) Ferguson and Mr. James Hunter was solemnized, the Rev. George Kendall officiating.
The bride was given away by her father and wore a beautiful dress of cream figured voile, a small wreath of orange blossoms being becomingly arranged on her coiffure. She also carried a lovely bouquet of bridal roses and wore a pearl and diamond sun ray brooch, a gift of the bridegroom.
Miss Garfield Hunter, sister of the bridegroom, was a graceful bridesmaid, attired in a charming gown of white crepe de chene, her bouquet being of deep shaded roses. She also wore a gold and sapphire ring, a gift from the bridegroom.
Miss Gertie Adams made a pretty little flower girl, wearing a dainty frock of white lawn and valenciennes lace. The little maiden carried a beautiful bouquet, also wearing a gold pendant brooch, a souvenir of the occasion from the bridegroom.
The best man was Mr. David Ferguson, brother of the bride. Miss Hampson played the wedding music most acceptably.
After the ceremony the guests, numbering about 180, adjourned to a sumptuous repast, and a very pleasant evening was spent by all.
The bride’s traveling suit was of navy blue cloth, with dainty white hat.
