Robert Nelson Ferguson (1911 ~ 1949)
5.7.3.1. First child of Robert J. Ferguson and Mary E. Smith, Robert Nelson Ferguson, was born May 9, 1911, in W. Luther Twp., Wellington Co., Ontario.
R. Nelson Ferguson died July 27, 1949, aged 38 years in Guelph, Ontario and is interred at Mount Forest Cemetery.

R. Nelson Ferguson
Following a brief illness the end came with tragic suddeness to Robert Nelson Ferguson in his 39th year.
Stricken on Saturday evening, he was taken by ambulance to Guelph General Hospital where in spite of the efforts of loving hands and skilled medical care he passed away Wednesday evening, July 27, 1949.
The funeral services were held at Mount Forest Cemetery, Thursday, July 28, with a large number of sorrowing friends and neighbors in attendance. Rev. Mr. McNabb of Knox Church, Conn, of which the deceased was a member, conducted the service.
There were many beautiful floral tributes testifying to the esteem and affection in which he was held.
Acting as pallbearers were Herbie Gilstorf, John Stack, Gladwyn McDonald, Leonard Ferguson, Robert Eccles and Lawrence Smith.
Nearest of kin left to mourn the loss of a loving son and brother are his mother and only brother Jim and family.
Nelson was the eldest son of the late Robert Ferguson and Mrs. Ferguson, now Mrs. Chas. Moore, Mount Forest, and was born in West Luther, May 9, 1911, being only a year and one half old when his father died.
From an early age he and his brother Jim carried on successful farming operations in Arthur and Minto townships and in late years they purchased the former Stephen Moore farm on the Conn-Mt. Forest road where the deceased labored diligently and faithfully until called to higher service. Mount Forest Confederate, Aug. 11, 1949.
