She married Dorval Avondale Houston, son of Alexander Houston and Maude Catherine Shirreffs, June 11, 1929, Midland, Ontario and had two children:

On Thursday, July 1, 1976, at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Mildred Laidlaw, wife of the late Dorval Houston, dear mother of Barbara (Mrs. S. Jasinski), Toronto, and Allan Houston, Thornhill, dear sister of Frances (Mrs. R. A. Megaw), of Midland, Naomi (Mrs. L. W. Clark), of Toronto, Ruth (Mrs. W. Crisp), of Sarnia, John of Toronto, and the late Aberdeen Laidlaw. Also survive by seven grandchildren. Resting at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West at Windermere, near the Jane subway. Funeral Service 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Interred Nashville Cemetery. Jasinski), of Toronto; Allan A. of Richvale; brother of Maurice of Etobicoke, Lorraine (Mrs. William Smith), Brampton and Vedera (Mrs. Elgin Nelson), Caledon East, and the late Verton (Joseph) Houston, also survived by six grandchildren. Resting at the W. R. Scott and Son Funeral Home, 46-6th Ave. S. (at No. 7 Hwy.), Woodbridge. Service in Chapel on Thursday morning, January 20, at 11 o’clock. Interred Nashville Cemetery. Mr. Robert Houston, an old resident of West Caledon, died at his home in Alton on Monday of last week, January 9, 1911. Deceased had attained the ripe age of ninety years and retained his health and the unimpaired use of his mental faculties almost to the last. He had been living retired in Alton for several years. The funeral was held on Wednesday, January 11, 1911, the remains being interred in Alton cemetery. Orangeville Banner, Jan. 19, 1911.
