Ruth Isobell Laidlaw  (1916 ~ 2001)

 

5.9.2.6. Sixth child of Mary Jane Johnston and Allen Laidlaw, Ruth Isobell Laidlaw, was born November 2, 1916, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario. 

  She married Victor Joseph Cummings, son of Joseph Reid Cummings and Ellen Jane Cousins, January 29, 1944, Toronto, Ontario and had two children:  

 

• (5.9.2.6.1)  Brian Victor  (1945 ~ )

• (5.9.2.6.2)  Brenda Jane  (1952 ~ )

 

  Ruth I. Laidlaw Cummings Porter died August 15, 2001, aged 86 years in Markham, Ontario and Victor J. Cummings died October 21, 1968, aged 51 years in Agincourt, Ontario and are interred at Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough, Ontario.

Peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2001, Ruth Isabel Porter, in her 85th year. Beloved wife, and predeceased by Victor Cummings (1968) and Robert Porter (1995). Dear mother of Brenda Jane Winters and Brian Cummings and his wife Betty.  Loving grandmother to Kelly, Dawn, Andrew, Lindsay and Mark and great-grandmother to Connor, Matthew and Luke.  Sister to Joan Giles. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 143 Main St. N., Markham, on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery.
