Joan Ferrier Laidlaw  (1918 ~ 2004)

 

5.9.2.7. Seventh child of Mary Jane Johnston and Allen Laidlaw, Joan Ferrier Laidlaw, was born December 18, 1918, in Midland, Simcoe Co., Ontario, Can.

  She married (1) Harald Stanley Falck, son of Alfred Falck and Anna Bertine Heidahl, June 5, 1943, Midland, Ontario and had three children:  

 

  • (5.9.2.7.1)  Randi Joan  (1947 ~ )

  • (5.9.2.7.2)  Ronald Alfred  (1951 ~ )

  • (5.9.2.7.3)  Janet Marlene  (1953 ~ )

 

  She married (2) William Thomas Crisp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Crisp, August 25, 1973, Sarnia, Ontario.

  She married (3) John Emerson Oscar Giles, son of William Giles and Ethel Foster, August 26, 1989, Sarnia, Ontario.

  Joan F. Laidlaw Falck Crisp Giles died August 21, 2004, aged 85 years in Sarnia, Ontario and Harald S. Falck died February 24, 1986, aged 69 years in Vancouver, British Columbia and are interred at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia, Ont., Can.

Joan F. Laidlaw Falck Crisp Giles

Joan F. Giles peacefully joined her beloved husband, Oscar on Saturday, August 21, 2004 in her 86th year. Mom’s last days were spent within the caring embrace of her loving family and she passed away in comfort at home. Joan was predeceased by her treasured parents, Mary Jane & Allan Laidlaw, five sisters, two brothers and Vanessa Tait-Raymond her great granddaughter. Joan has been a devoted mother to Randi and her husband Joe Maheu, daughter Janet Tait, son Ron Falck and cherished grandmother of Tara, Kim, Jeff, Craig, Laura, Matt, and Mark Maheu, Greg and Richard Falck, Andrea and Alison Tait. Also, Nana has been a loving great grandmother to Kelly, Jackson and Asia Maheu and Cassidy Van Praet. Mom will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mom lived to love her family. She also loved life and learning, had an adventuresome spirit, a passion for sailing and God’s great outdoors. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. from Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. William T. Crisp

October 14, 1899 ~ March 13, 1985

William Crisp, 85, of 160 George St., died Wednesday, March 13, 1985, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in England, residing in the Sarnia area over 60 years. He was retired from Imperial Oil with 37 years service, and a member of the Lambton Shrine Club.

 He is survived by his sons, Frank and William of Sarnia, daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Margaret) Lea of Sarnia, and seven grandchildren.

  Predeceased by his wife, Rose Irene Smith and brother, Frank.

  Visitation at D. J. Robb Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through the charity of choice. Sarnia Observer, Mar. 14, 1985.

           

J. E. Oscar Giles

August 9, 1914 ~ December 28, 1989

At the Sarnia General Hospital on Thursday, December 28, 1989, J. Oscar Giles, age 75, of 501 Errol Road West, Sarnia, beloved husband of Joan (Laidlaw) Giles and the late Norma Battram, dear father of Tom of Imlay City, Michigan, Beth Giles of Toronto, Randi and Joe Maheu and Janet and Doug Tait, both of Sarnia and Ron and Tracey Falck of London. Thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A lifelong resident of Sarnia, Mr. Giles was a member and twice Past Commodore of Sarnia Yacht Club, and a member of the Devine Street United Church. He was a retired mechanical engineer from Imperial Oil and was employed for many years with Spiers Brothers Limited. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the D. Jra. Robb Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30th at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Saturday noon until service time. Matthew J. Maheu

January 26, 1979 ~ May 21, 2010

Matthew James Maheu, age 31, of Toronto, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 21, 2010. He was the dearly beloved son of Joseph and Randi Maheu of Petrolia. Loving brother of Tara (Rick) Walters, Kim (Shaune) McNamara, Jeff (Faye) Maheu, Craig (Jozlin) Maheu, Laura Maheu and Mark Maheu. Favourite uncle of Kelly, Jackson, Asia, Farrah, Deaglan, Halima, Aliya, Aidan and Ashalina. Also cherished by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt is predeceased by his dear grandparents Joan and Oscar Giles and Wilfred and Dorothy Maheu. Matt was always a happy, generous, loving and thoughtful person. He was kind to all and admired by everyone who knew him. Matt brought great joy to his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his large family and many friends in Toronto, London and internationally. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Anna B. Heidahl Falck

March 3, 1885 ~ October 1, 1935

Mrs. Anna Heidahl Falck, wife of Alfred Falck, died October 1, 1935, after a lengthy illness. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Harald S. Falck of Guelph, Ont., and Ralph D. Falck of Winnipeg, also a brother, Mr. N. Heidahl of Stonewall, Man., and a sister Mrs. H. A. Lageson of Sedan, Minn.

  Funeral services will be held in Buchanan, Sask., in the Lutheran Church, and burial will be made in the Buchanan Cemetery in the family plot. Preeceville Progress, Oct. 2, 1935.

 

Thorbjørn H. Falck

August 4, 1850 ~ October 6, 1934

My sincerely beloved husband and father, Thorbjørn Falck died quietly, October 6, 1934. On behalf of the family and ourselves Astrid Falck, born Biermann. Funeral services will be held in the old crematorium Thursday, October 11th at twelve. Oslo Aftenposten, Oct. 9, 1934.

 

Marie Pay Falck

March 13, 1861 ~ January 22, 1928

The death occurred on Sunday, January 22, 1928, of Mrs. Marie Falck, age 67 years. Mrs. Falck had been an inmate of the Bethany Home since coming from Saskatchewan two years ago. The funeral service was held on Tuesday in the Lutheran Church. Rev. L. O. Falkeid officiated. Interment took place in the Bawlf Cemetery. Bawlf Sun, Jan. 27, 1928.
