William John Johnston  (1885 ~ 1960)

 

5.9.5. Fifth child of Isabella Adams and Robert Johnston, William John Johnston, was born September 29, 1885, in Midland, Ontario. 

 

  W. John Johnston died October 25, 1960, aged 75 years in Midland, Ontario and is interred at Lakeview Cemetery.

W. John Johnston

The death of  William John Johnston occurred October 25, 1960 in St. Andrews Hospital, following a long illness.

  Born in Midland, September 29, 1885, he had resided all his life in the community. His employment was as engineer with the Canadian National Railways.

  He was a Presbyterian, and in politics, Conservative. In sports his interest was in hockey and lacrosse.

  The funeral was held from the A. Barrie and Sons funeral home conducted by J. L. Self.  Russell, Ray, and Samuel Switzer, R. A. Megaw, V. J. Cummings, and Mervin Grigg were pallbearers.

  Attending the funeral were friends from Mount Forest, Conn, Collingwood, Hamilton, Burlington, Toronto, and Scarborough.

  He is survived by a sister Miss Maude Johnston, and a brother, James Johnston.

  Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Midland Free Press, Nov. 4, 1960.
