5.9.6. Sixth child of Isabella Adams and Robert Johnston, Martha Maud Grace Johnston, was born August 8, 1890, in Midland, Ontario.
M. Maud G. Johnston died June 21, 1971, aged 80 years in Toronto, Ontario and is interred at Lakeview Cemetery, in Midland, Ontario.

Maud Johnston
Miss Martha Maud Grace Johnston, who lived in Midland most of her life, died June 21, 1971 at Queensway General Hospital, Toronto.
She had been a long standing member of the Friendship Circle in Midland before suffering a stroke in February 1968 which forced her to resign from the club.
Funeral services were conducted from Barrie and Stoddart Funeral Home, Midland, July 2, by Rev. J. B. Craig. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews Russell Switzer, Midland, Ray Switzer, Toronto and Sam Switzer, Hamilton; and great nephews, Bill Clark, Brian Cummings, both of Toronto, and Bob Megaw, Midland.
Miss Johnston was born in Midland, August 8, 1890 and was also educated here. She was the daughter of Robert Johnston and Isabella (Adams) Johnston who are both deceased.
She is survived by nephews, Ray Switzer, Toronto; Sam D. Switzer, Hamilton, and Russell Switzer, Midland. Surviving nieces are, Mrs. Dorval A. Houston, Mrs. Leaford W. Clark, Mrs. Robert A. Porter, Mrs. Donald E. Howard, all of Toronto; Mrs. John Hebner, Mrs. Ted West, Mrs. Walter Milligan, all of Hamilton; Mrs. Harald S. Falck, Sarnia and Mrs. Robert A. Megaw, Midland. She was predeceased by brothers, Charlie, James and John and by sisters Mrs. Allan (Mary Jane) Laidlaw and Mrs. Alf (Margaret) Switzer. Midland Free Press, July 14, 1971.
