Emily Jane Motten  (1922 ~ 1987)

 

6.1.2.3. Third child of Roger H. Motten and Jessie C. Barclay, Emily Jane Motten, was born November 24, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. 

  She married Max Morton Lassen, Jr., son of Max Morton Lassen and Eva Alden Robbins, June 22, 1946, in Wethersfield, Connecticut and had two children:

  • (6.1.2.3.2)  Max MortonSkip”  (1957 ~ )

 

  Emily J. Motten Lassen died June 24, 1987, aged 64 years and M. Morton Lassen died October 31, 2000, aged 79 years in San Diego, California.

Dr. and Mrs. Roger Henwood Motten of Center Street, Wethersfield, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Emily Jane Motten, to Mr. M. Morton Lassen, Jr.,  son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Morton Lassen of Willard Street, Wethersfield.

  Miss Motten is a graduate of Wethersfield High School and Teachers College of Connecticut. She is teaching in Deep River.  Mr. Lassen was graduated from Wethersfield High School and served as a technical representative for Pratt and Whitney Division in the Aleutian Island, South America, Africa and the European Theater. Emily M. Lassen of San Diego, Calif., died June 24, 1987. She was formerly of Wethersfield and Bolton. Wife of M. Morton Lassen of San Diego, Calif.; mother of Max M. Lassen of England and Susan Dineen of West Haven; sister of Roger Motten in Florida and Clement Motten in Pennsylvania. Services will be private in California. Hartford Courant, June 27, 1987.

August 12, 1921 ~ October 31, 2000

M. Morton Lassen, Jr., 79, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Wethersfield and Bolton died Tuesday [October 31, 2000]. He retired after a 38 year career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he was a field service representative. A long standing Mason since 1932, and a member of the Accordian Club of San Diego, CA. He formerly owned Lassen Petroleum, Bolton. He is survived by his wife, Josephine of San Diego, CA; daughter, Susan Dineen of West Haven; son, Max M. Lassen, III of Sand Point, ID; sister, Catherine L. Alling of West Hartford. Memorial Services were held Sat. Nov. 4, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, San Diego, CA. Hartford Courant, Nov. 8, 2000.

 

Max M. Lassen

October 28, 1883 ~ March 15, 1956

Max M. Lassen of Washington, Maine, formerly of Wethersfield, died Thursday, March 15, 1956, at his home.  He was born in New York City, October 28, 1883. In Wethersfield he was a member of Hospitality Lodge and the White Shrine of Hartford. He was employed by United Aircraft Corp. and the Ballard Oil Co. before moving away. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Eva Robbins Lassen; a daughter, Mrs. Morton D. Alling, Jr., of West Hartford; a son, M. Morton Lassen of Manchester; a brother, Grover V. Lassen of Mystic, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Flanders Funeral Home, Waldoboro, Maine, with burial in New London at the convenience of the family.
