Sylvia Myrth Skinner  (1870 ~ 1912)

 

6.2.1.4. Fourth child of Elizabeth Ullyot and George Skinner, Sylvia Myrth Skinner, was born April 8, 1870, in Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

  She married Thomas Albert Colvin, son of James Colvin and Eliza, September 18, 1889, in Lindsay, Ops Twp., Victoria Co., Ontario and had seven children:

  Sylvia M. Skinner Colvin died September 14, 1912, aged 42 years, in Easby, Cavalier Co., North Dakota and T. Albert Colvin died August 4, 1942, aged 77 years in Manvers Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.

Sylvia M. Skinner Colvin

April 8, 1870 ~ September 14, 1912

The death at the family home in Easby on Saturday morning of last week September 14th of Sylvia M. the wife of Thos. Colvin, occurred after an illness that had lasted the greater part of the past year, the last few weeks having told plainly that death would eventually end the sufferings of the deceased. Mrs. Colvin, aged forty-three years was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Skinner of this city, and leaves to mourn the husband to whom she was married in Ontario in 1889, seven children being left with the widowed husband. The Colvins came to Cavalier County from southern Manitoba in 1895. For several years the Colvins made Langdon their home. Mr. Colvin at that time being the partner of Alex McDonald in the machinery and blacksmithing business. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Harvey Center Methodist Church, Rev. D. Scadeng officiating. Langdon Courier Democrat, Sept. 19, 1912.

T. Albert Colvin

May 22, 1865 ~ August 4, 1942

In Manvers, on Tuesday, August 4, 1942, Thomas Albert Colvin, aged 77 years. The funeral took place on Thursday, August 6 at 2:30 p.m. with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manvers. Millbrook Mirror-Reporter, Aug. 13, 1942.
