Josiah Joseph Muirhead (1850 ~ 1922)

7.1. First child of Sarah Adams and John Muirhead, Josiah Joseph Muirhead, was born February 13, 1850, in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

He married Mary Yule, daughter of James Yule and Mary Lillico, February 25, 1875, in Alnwick Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario and had one child:

Josiah J. Muirhead died January 18, 1922, aged 71 years, and Mary Yule Muirhead died December 8, 1920, aged 65 years in Colborne, Ontario and are interred at Cobourg Union Cemetery.

J. J. Muirhead

A well-known resident of Colborne has passed away [January 18, 1922] in the death of J. J. Muirhead, who had been ill for a long time. His wife, who had given him such devoted care for years, passed away last year, as a result of being accidentally burned. Her death was a severe blow to her husband, and their only daughter, Mrs. (Dr.) E. Latta. The funeral takes place this afternoon and interment is in Cobourg Union Cemetery. With Mrs. Latta very deep sympathy is felt in this second bereavement. Cobourg World, Jan. 20, 1922.

Mary Yule Muirhead

August 5, 1855 ~ December 10, 1920

Home two or three weeks ago as Mrs. Muirhead, who resides with her daughter, Mrs. (Dr.) Latta at Colborne was burning some papers, her clothing caught fire and she was seriously burned. Notwithstanding the most skillful medical assistance and careful nursing, she succumbed to the effects of her unfortunate accident on Wednesday, December 8, 1920. Besides her husband, Mr. Joseph Muirhead, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. (Dr.) E. Latta, Colborne. Mrs. T. C. Lapp, Cobourg is a niece of deceased. Cobourg World, Dec. 10, 1920.
