Blanche Melcha Linton  (1895 ~ 1973)

 

8.1.4. Fourth child of John M. Linton and Melcha Zimmerman, Blanche Melcha Linton, was born February 12, 1895, in Mayfield Twp., Lapeer Co., Michigan, U.S. 

  She married (1) Glenn Ferguson Swain, son of Samuel Swain and Sarah Ferguson, November 15, 1916, in Lapeer, Michigan, and had three children: 

 

 

  She married (2) Samuel Raymond Comer, son of Samuel S. Comer and Alice Wilson, September 25, 1945, in Lum, Michgan. He died November 13, 1961, aged 68 years, in Lapeer, Michigan.

 

  Blanche M. Linton Swain Comer died December 2, 1973, aged 78 years and Glenn F. Swain died June 19, 1941, aged 46 years in Lapeer, Lapeer Co., Michigan, and are interred at Lum Cemetery.

Glenn Swain of Attica and Miss Blanche Linton of Lum were married yesterday afternoon at the Presbyterian manse, by Rev. F. A. Johnson. Lapeer Clarion, Nov. 16, 1916.

Blanche M. Linton Swain Comer

Mrs. Blanche Comer, 78, of 5090 Lum Rd., Lum, died Sunday, December 2, 1973, at the Lapeer Hospital.

 She was born February 12, 1895, and married Glenn Swain, November 15, 1916. He preceded her in death in 1941. She married Ray Comer in September 1945. He died in 1961.

  She was a member of Lum Chapter OES 436. She lived in this area most of her life.

  Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Omah Kilbreath of Lum; 2 sons, Glenn Swain of Lum and Samuel Swain of Mt. Clemens; 1 great grandchild and 6 grandchildren.

  Services will be this Wednesday, December 5, at 2 p.m. from Muir Bros. Funeral Home, Imlay City. The Rev. Dorm Thomas will officiate. Lapeer County Press, Dec. 5, 1973.

Glenn F. Swain

December 30, 1894 ~ June 19, 1941

Glenn F. Swain, 46, died in Lapeer county hospital early Thursday morning, June 19, 1941. He was taken there Wednesday evening after becoming seriously ill while working at the Brisk Factory and Machine Shop, at Imlay City.

  Mr. Swain was born in Attica township, December 30, 1894, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Swain. He moved to Arcadia township with his parents when he was three years old and lived there since that time. For the past 15 years he has resided in Lum. He was married November 15, 1916, to Blanche Linton who survies him. He is also survived by two sons, Glenn Jr., and Sam; a daughter Omah, two sisters, Mrs. Harold Secord of Arcadia township and Mrs. Ruth White of Lapeer.

  Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 at the Lum Methodist church with Rev. George Hoffman officiating and burial in Lum Cemetery. Lapeer County Press, June 25, 1941.
