Benjamin Franklin Moore (1888 ~ 1951)
8.2.2. Second child of Sarah Jane Linton and George Edward Moore, Benjamin Franklin Moore, was born January 16, 1888, in Lapeer, Lapeer Co., Michigan, U.S.
He married (1) Alta Mae Vaughan, daughter of David W. Vaughan and Rosetta A. Conant, April 5, 1911* in Flint, Lapeer Co., Michigan and had three children:

Benjamin F. Moore died May 28, 1951, aged 63 years, and Alta M. Vaughan Moore Zuhlke Kolka died August 6, 1993, aged 100 years, in Lapeer, Michigan and are interred at Stiles Cemetery.

Benjamin F. Moore, 63, died unexpectedly Monday morning, May 28, 1951 at his home on DeMille Road. He was born January 16, 1888 in Lapeer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Moore and married Grace Higley in 1929. Surviving are his widow, three sons, George of Lapeer; Pierce of Lansing; and Benjamin at home; one daughter, Lorene at home; two sisters, Mrs. George Spurck, Detroit; and Mrs. Bertha Gantz, Lapeer; one brother, Charles of Detroit and three grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Baird Funeral Home with burial in Stiles Cemetery. Lapeer County Press, May 30, 1951.
Alta M. Vaughan Moore Zuhlke Kolka
July 31, 1893 ~ August 6, 1993
Alta M. Kolka, 100, of Lapeer died August 6, 1993, at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
She was born July 31, 1893, in Hadley to David and Rosetta Vaughan.
Mrs. Kolka was at one time a school teacher. She worked as a secretary for Carl B. Foster, General Contractor, in Flint for 26 years. She opened her own tax and bookkeeping service in Lapeer in 1957, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and a long time member of the Lapeer BPW.
She is survived by three grandchildren, George F. (and wife, Shirley) Moore Jr. of Lapeer, Dorothy (and husband, Jack) Smith of Lapeer, Alta T. Vallieu of Lapeer; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous great great-granchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1965; and her son, George B. Moore in 1986.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Services were Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lapeer. Burial was in Stiles Cemetery. Lapeer County Press, Aug. 11, 1993.
