Benjamin Franklin Moore  (1938 ~ )

 

8.2.2.6. Sixth child of Benjamin F. Moore and Grace L. Higley, Benjamin Franklin Moore, was born March 18, 1938, in Lapeer, Lapeer Co., Michigan, U.S.

  He married Mary Josephine Kay, daughter of Donald Duncan Kay and Dorothy Mae Green, August 23, 1958, in Lapeer, Michigan and had three children:

 

  • (8.2.2.6.1)  Deborah Kay  (1960 ~ )

  • (8.2.2.6.2)  Donald Pierce  (1963 ~ )

  • (8.2.2.6.3)  Anne Elizabeth  (1966 ~ )

 

  Benjamin F. Moore currently resides in Rochester, Michigan.

 

---- MARRIAGE -----

Moore—Kay

Exchanging their wedding vows on Saturday evening in the First Presbyterian Church were Mary Jo Kay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kay and Benjamin F. Moore, son of Mrs. Benjamin F. Moore of Gallup, New Mexico and the late Mr. Moore. The Rev. Stephen C. Crowell, pastor of the church, read the impressive double ring service in the presence of several hundred guests.

  The bride's gown was of white silk organza over taffeta and was floor length with a short train. She wore a fingertip veil with tiara of floral effect. The bridal bouquet was of white carnations with pink sweetheart rosebuds.

  The maid of honor and bridesmaids, wore identically fashioned gowns of mint green taffeta with darker green cummerbunds with matching headpieces and shoes. They carried bouquets of coral carnations with Dracaena leaves. Alice Green of Lapeer, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Patricia White of Birmingham and Lorene Moore, sister of the bridegroom of Gallup, N.M. Their bouquets were of variegated carnations and Dracaena leaves. 

  Charles Holman served as best man and ushers were Thomas Rehn, William Hanson, Owen Pope, Rogers Flanigan, and Donald Lyons, all of Lapeer.

  For the wedding trip to Northern Michigan, the new Mrs. Moore changed to a navy jacket dress with navy and pink accessories. Upon their return they will live in East Lansing and continue their studies at Michigan State University.

  Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Church parlors where the bride's mother receive her guests in a Dior blue lace over blue taffeta with navy and light blue accessories. The bridegroom's mother chose a dress of grey lace over rose taffeta and both mothers wore corsages of pink carnations.

  The bride had attended Albion College and Michigan State University and the bridegroom has attended Wayne State University and Michigan State University. Lapeer County Press, Aug. 28, 1958.
