He married Nancy Joanne Drummond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Drummond, March 16, 1951, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and had five children:

Loving husband of the late Nancy; dear father of Rebecca (John) Oetjens, Amy (Richard) Ceglarek, Mary Wilson, John Spurck, and the late Margaret Spurck; grandfather of Elizabeth (Scott), Meagan, Joseph, Peter, Patrick and Sean; great grandfather of Naomi. Peter was the House Manager at Meadowbrook Theater in Rochester.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2009, 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. Memorial Service at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester. Internment Acacia Park Cemetery.
