She married (2) Robert James Slingerlend, son of James Irving Slingerlend and Lula Charlotte Rivenburgh, May 22, 1981, in Atlanta, Michigan. He died June 29, 2013, aged 98 years in N. Branch, Michigan.
Barbara L. Gantz Palmer Slingerlend died July 24, 2005, aged 88 years in Lapeer, Michigan.

Barbara L. Gantz Palmer Slingerlend
February 13, 1927 ~ July 24, 2005
Barbara Linton Slingerlend, 88, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at McLaren Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born February 13, 1927 in Lapeer. After raising her family in the Hadley area, Barbara lived Up North in Atlanta, MI, for 29 years. In 2008, she returned to Lapeer County, and frequently expressed that she was so happy to be back home. Barbara grew up in Lapeer and graduated from the University of Michigan, earning her degree in Music and Spanish. Barbara was a devoted mother to her children and they were blessed to have a stay-athome mom. Barbara was always intellectually active. Over the years, she taught herself to play the guitar masterfully, taught herself Russian and participated in conservation projects. Most recently, she was studying Native American history and culture in the Great Lakes region.
Barbara is survived by her children, Russel (Sherrie) Palmer of Mt. Morris, Anne Hier of North Branch, Harold Palmer of Genesee, Eric (Lorinda) Palmer of Australia; grandson, Steven Palmer of Mt. Morris; granddaughter, Chantelle Cormwell of Genesee. She also leaves behind her bulldog, Bessie.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Bertha (Moore) Gantz; and husbands, Robert Palmer and Robert (Bud) Slingerlend.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Hutchinson officiated. Burial was in Stiles Cemetery, Mayfield Twp.

Robert Albert Palmer ~ Of Grand Blanc, formerly of Lapeer and Toledo, Ohio, age 80, died Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Pebbleshire Foster Care. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Jim Reid officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m.-2 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Palmer was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 14, 1923. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed tool and die maker and before retirement was a tool designer. Surviving are 4 children, Russel and wife Sherrie of Flint, Anne Heir of Lansing, Harold of Flint and Eric of Georgia; 2 grandchildren, Steven Palmer and Chantealle Palmer; sister, Ethel Miller of Lansing. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Ernie Palmer and Carl Weir. Flint Journal, Feb. 9, 2004.
