9.2.3.1. First child of Ethel I. Waldie and Oria A. Brown, Robert Floyd Brown, was born August 31, 1916, in Cobourg, Northumberland Co., Ontario.

He married Doris Marion Ivatt, daughter of Abraham Ivatt and Ethel Blodgett, September 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario and had two children:

R. Floyd Brown and Doris M. Ivatt Brown died March 16, 1991, aged 74 years and 64 years in Roseneath, Ontario, and are interred at Centreton Cemetery.

The marriage was solemnized quietly in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon, September 22, 1945 of Doris Marion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Ivatt, Centreton, to Mr. Floyd Robert Brown, son of Mrs. Ethel Brown and the late Mr. O. Brown of Fenella.

The bride wore a brown tailored suit with brown accessories and a corsage of ‘mums. She was attended by Miss Merle Blodgett who wore a blue wool suit with black accessories and she also wore a corsage of ‘mums. The groom was attended by the bride’s brother, Mr. Allan Ivatt.

After the ceremony the happy couple left for points west. On their return they will reside on the groom’s farm at Fenella. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Oct. 4, 1945.

Suddenly as a result of an accident on Saturday, March 16, 1991. Robert Floyd Brown, the beloved husband of the late Doris Ivatt. Dear father of Lois (Mrs. Garnet Steckenreiter) of Fenella and Glen and his wife Betty of Campellford. Loving grandfather of Robert and Crystal Brown. Dear brother of Verna (Mrs. M. Macklin) of Fenella.

Funeral services will beheld at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Wednesday, March 20th at 2 p.m. Interment at Centreton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Those wishing, may make a memorial contribution to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Cobourg World, Mar. 18, 1991.
