Thomas Robert Waldie (1895 ~ 1953)
9.2.4. Fourth child of Isabella Adams and Robert Waldie, Thomas Robert Waldie, was born December 20, 1895, in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.
He married Marguerite Winnifred George, daughter of Frederick Henry George and Mary Isabella Mann, January 18, 1941, in Baltimore, Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario and had four children:

Thomas R. Waldie died September 25, 1953, aged 57 years, near Wicklow, Haldimand Twp., Ontario and Marguerite W. George Waldie Williamson died April 15, 1993, aged 80 years in Camborne, Ontario and are interred at Centreton Cemetery.

A quiet wedding took place at the United Church parsonage in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon, January 18, 1941, when Marguerite Winnifred George, daughter of Mrs. George and the late Fred George of Baltimore, became the bride of Thomas Robert Waldie, of Grafton, son of Mr. Robert Waldie and the late Mrs. Waldie. Rev. D. M. Smith officiated.
The bride wore a street-length dress of Queen’s blue wool with black accessories and a bordeaux wine coat with black fur trimming. The couple were unattended.
Mr. and Mrs. Waldie will live north of Grafton. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Jan. 23, 1941.

Thomas R. Waldie
Thomas Robert Waldie, resident of Academy Hill, near Grafton, met his death suddenly on Friday, September 25, 1953, while working at the farm of Kenneth Bilcox, south of Wicklow, Mr. Waldie’s clothing caught in the power-take-off of the forage harvester he was operating and he was instantly killed.
Mr. Waldie was the only son of the late Robert Waldie and Isabella Adams, Haldimand Tp. and was in his 57th year. His entire life was spent on his father’s farm, north of Grafton.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife, the former Marguerite George, three daughters, Isabel, Florence and Linda; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Adams, Miss Chrissie Waldie, Centreton and Mrs. Ethel Brown, Fenella. His infant son predeceased him in November 1950.
The funeral was held from his late residence, on Sunday, with interment in the family plot, Centreton. Rev. H. Robbins, St. Andrew’s United Church, Grafton, conducted the services.
The pallbearers were neighbors: Arthur Clouston, James Smith, Lawrence Jaynes, George McCallum, William Underwood and Leslie Pratt of Burritts Rapids. The flower bearers were Henry May, Robert Calnan, Grant Coe, Thomas Scott, Harry McLaren, Harold Winter, Gordon McBride and Fred Roberts.
The funeral service was largely attended by relatives and friends from Brighton, Colborne, Lakeport, Cobourg, Port Hope, Plainville, Baltimore, Roseneath, Fenella, Trent River and Peterborough. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Oct. 8, 1953.

May 17, 1912 ~ April 15, 1993
Marguerite Winnifred Williamson, peacefully at her residence, R.R.4, Cobourg on Thursday, April 15, 1993. Marguerite George, wife of the late Clifford Williamson and the late Thomas Waldie. Beloved mother of Isabel (Mrs. K. Gardner) of Oshawa, Florence (Mrs. R. Butcher) of Codrington, and Linda (Mrs. R. Yates) of Guelph. Also missed by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother Donald George. Funeral service was held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. Those wishing may make memorial donations by cheque to the Hospital for Sick Children, the Bethesda South United Church or the charity of their choice. Cobourg World, Apr. 19, 1993.
Robert F. Waldie
October 7, 1950 ~ November 14, 1950
Robert Frederick Waldie, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Waldie, passed away in the Sick Children’s Hospital, Toronto, November 14, 1950, at the age of one month, 14 days, following a serious operation.
The funeral was held from the family residence, Academy Hill, Grafton, on Thursday, with Rev. J. H. Robbins, pastor of St. Andrew’s Church, officiating at the service.
The pallbearers for the tiny white casket were neighbor boys: Dale Coe, Tommy McLaren, Bobbie Scott and Billie Boyle. Flower bearers were: Mr. Ernest Joice and Mr. Clifford Mann.
The baby is survived by his parents and three sisters, Isobel, Florence and Linda Waldie.
Interment was made in the family plot at Centreton Cemetery. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Nov. 23, 1950.
