----- MARRIAGE -----
Adams—Milne
The residence of Mr. J. A. Nichol, Roseneath, Ont., was the scene of a very pretty Easter event, on the afternoon of April 7, 1920, the occasion being the marriage of his niece, Miss Bella May Milne, eldest daughter of Mrs. Eliza Milne to Mr. Delbert James Adams, second son of Mrs. Maggie Adams of Fenella, Ont.
The bride looked very charming and was prettily gowned in white crepe de chene embroidered with silk and seed beads, with the customary bridal veil and orange blossoms and wore the groom’s gift, an amythyst and pearl pendant and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations with fern.
Accompanied by her uncle, Mr. J. A. Nichol, she took her place beside the groom, beneath an arch of evergreens banked with ferns and Easter lilies, while Miss Jean Nicol of Norwood played Lohengrin’s Bridal chorus. Miss Ina Milne was her sister’s bridesmaid, dressed in maize crepe de chene and Mr. Frank Adams ably supported his brother.
The marriage ceremony was conducted by Rev. Thomas McNaught of Bethesda. The groom’s gift to the pianist was a beautiful bar pin set with an amythyst.
After the ceremony and the signing of the marriage register, the wedding party led the way to the dinning room where a very dainty luncheon was served.
Immediately afterwards the happy couple left amid showers of confetti and good wishes for a short honeymoon to western points. The bride’s traveling suit was of navy serge with taupe hat and veil.
The bride received many beautiful gifts, which shows the high esteem in which the young couple are held. Cobourg World, Apr. 16, 1920.
