9.4.1.1. First child of Delbert T. Sherwin and Mabel Brown, Evalena Myrtle Sherwin, was born May 5, 1913, in Roseneath, Alnwick Twp., Ontario.

She married Hilliard Reginald O’Connell, son of Samuel O’Connell and Ida Maria Lonsberry, March 9, 1932, in Cobourg, Ontario and had two children:

Evalena M. Sherwin O’Connell died December 9, 1984, aged 71 years and Hilliard R. O’Connell died October 8, 1994, aged 84 years in Cobourg, Ontario and are interred at Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath, Ontario.

A quiet wedding took place at Trinity United Church parsonage on Wednesday, March 9, 1932, when Evalena Myrtle Sherwin became the wife of Hilliard Reginald O’Connell. Both young people were from Harwood and were married by Rev. W. R. Tanton. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Mar. 17, 1932.

At the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg, on Sunday, December 9, 1984, Evalena Sherwin, beloved wife of Hilliard Reginald O’Connell, Roseneath. Beloved mother of Phyllis (Mrs. Victor Baldini) and Neil, both of Cobourg. Dear sister of Leah (Mrs. N. Foreman), Rosenath and Neil Sherwin, Florida. Dear grandmother of Brenda, David, Lynn and Allan O’Connell and Randy and Rick Baldini. Funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg, on Wednesday, December 12 at 2 p.m. Interment Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath. At the loving home of his daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and Victor Baldini, R.R.4, Cobourg, on Saturday, October 8, 1994, Hilliard Reginald O’Connell, son of the late Samuel and Ida O’Connell. Husband of the late Evalena Sherwin. Dear father of Neil and his wife Florence and Phyllis and her husband Victor Baldini, all of Cobourg. Loving brother of Dora Sandercock of Harwood. Predeceased by one brother, Gordon. Lovingly remembered by six grandchildren, David and Allan O’Connell, Brenda and Lynn Irwin, Randy and Rick Baldini and eight great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Rushton Funeral Home, 301 Division St., Cobourg on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Judith Borland officiating. Interment Centenary Cemetery, Roseneath.
