The bride chose a sleeveless ballerina length gown of Dior blue chantilly lace and nylon net over taffeta with a wife cowl collar in front forming a V in the back with large bow-fitted bodice and bouffant skirt. Her shoulder veil of matching lace was held with a matching floral headdress. A corsage of deep red carnations with set of rhinestone jewellery (the gift of the groom) completed her costume.

Her bridesmaid was a cousin, Miss Nelda Brown, wearing a sheer nylon chiffon gown over nylon net and taffeta in maize colour with headdress of matching roses and gloves, corsage of variegated blue carnations.

Groomsman was Donald Sherwin, cousin of the groom.

A reception-luncheon was held at Maple Lodge, the home of the groom’s parents for seventy guests. The bride’s aunt, Mrs. George Mouncey, received wearing a gown of chantilly lace in teal blue with dusty rose accessories; both wore corsages of pink carnations.

The waitresses were cousins of the bride and groom, Misses Marion Roberts and Mary Lou Roberts, Mesdames Neil Sherwin, Michael Mayko, William Thompson and Robert Quinn under the supervision of Mrs. Clarke Mouncey, Mrs. Earl Thackeray and Mrs. Alvin Rosebush.

During the luncheon, recorded music was played, the records were of piano numbers played by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Frank Down.
