----- MARRIAGE -----
Sherwin—Braithwaite
A quiet but very pretty autumn wedding was solemnized on Wednesday, September 18, 1929, at the United Church parsonage, Springbrook, with Rev. Henry Bunt officiating, when Elva Grace, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sherwin, Roseneath, became the bride of Edgar J., youngest son of Mrs. Clara and the late John Braithwaite.
The bride looked charming in a French bouffant frock of chocolate brown flat crepe, with circular collar and cuffs of sand shade crepe, and long sleeves. She carried an arm bouquet of Premier roses and fern, and wore the groom’s
gift, a charming pearl bar pin with attractive design setting. They were unattended.
Following the ceremony a dinner was given in their honor by their friends, Rev. and Mrs. Bunt. Later the happy couple left amid showers of good wishes on a motor trip to New Ontario, the bride traveling in a suit of navy all-wool broadcloth with pin stripe, and fox furs. Her hat was copen faille silk, with velvet and novelty ornaments.
On their return Mr. and Mrs. Braithwaite will reside in Alnwick Township. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Sept. 26, 1929.
