George Stanley Tucker  (1936 ~ 2022)

 

9.5.1.3. Third child of T. Arthur Tucker and Della Earl, George Stanley Tucker, was born February 14, 1936, in Elma Twp., Perth Co., Ontario.

  He married Audrey Doreen McCracken, daughter of Joseph Armstrong McCracken and Rae Irene Ward, October 10, 1959, in Listowel, Perth Co., Ontario and had a family of three children:

  • (9.5.1.3.2)  Brian George  (1962 ~ 2018)

  • (9.5.1.3.3)  Shelley Ann  (1970 ~ )

 

  George S. Tucker died October 6, 2022, aged 86 years, and Audrey D. McCracken Tucker died November 1, 2023, aged 86 years, in Listowel, Ontario and are interred at Fairview Cemetery.

George S. Tucker

February 14, 1936 ~ October 6, 2022 

George Stanley Tucker of Listowel, and formerly of Atwood, met his son Brian at the heavenly gates on October 6, 2022, in his 87th year.

  Beloved husband of Audrey (McCracken) Tucker. Dear father of Jacqui & Fritz Friedmann of Listowel, and Shelley & Greg Crummer of Elmwood, and father-in-law of Lee-Ann Tucker of Listowel. Proud poppa of Matthew & Stacey Schalk of Listowel, Stephanie Schalk & Kyle Boyne of London, Jordan Tucker of Stratford, Brody & Emily Tucker of Listowel, and Melissa, Thomas, and Tyler Crummer, all of Elmwood, and great-poppa of Dakston, Lennon, Maddie, and Clara. Brother of Lynn & Janet Tucker of Dorchester.

  Predeceased by his son Brian Tucker, brother Earl Tucker and his wife Peggy, and sister Shirley Lee and her husband Elmer.

  George and Audrey would have celebrated their 63rd anniver-sary on October 10. George (Old Faithful) was Clerk-Treasurer for the township of Elma for 35 years. He was a proud life member of the Atwood Lions Club, coached and played hockey, and had an active social life with his Atwood friends that usually ended with a rousing rendition of “Daisy a Day”. He loved a good game of golf and Lost Heir, and was a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

  He will be remembered for his patience, humour, and love of family and food.

  We would like to thank the amazing staff at Huronlea for their compassionate loving care they provided him for his last years while he battled dementia.

  Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Lions Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

  Memorial donations to Atwood Lions Club or Huronlea Residents’ Council would be appreciated.

Audrey D. McCracken Tucker

May 28, 1937 ~ November 1, 2023

Audrey Doreen (McCracken) Tucker of Listowel, and formerly of Atwood, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in her 87th year.

  Beloved wife of the late George Tucker (October 6, 2022).

 Loving mother of Jacqui & Fritz Friedmann of Listowel, and Shelley & Greg Crummer of Elmwood, and mother-in-law of Lee-Ann Tucker of Listowel.

  Proud grandma of Matthew & Stacey Schalk of Listowel, Steph-anie Schalk & Kyle Boyne of London, Jordan Tucker of Stratford, Brody & Emily Tucker of Listowel, and Melissa, Thomas, and Tyler Crummer, all of Elmwood, and great-grandma of Dakston, Lennon, Maddie, Clara, and Tatum.

 Sister-in-law of Lynn & Janet Tucker of Dorchester, and Gary McClement of Listowel.

Predeceased by her son Brian Tucker, and sisters Marion (Joe) Horn, and Jean McClement.

 Audrey was born on the farm in Wallace Township, which was later known as the Blue Barn. Audrey and her sisters were only a few of the rural kids that attended the town school in Listowel.

  She loved music. In her younger years she sang in the school choir and for many weddings. She also loved the late night sing-alongs with the Atwood Crew, and dancing with dad.

  She loved to play Lost Heir with her friends and relatives. The games with her sisters were a whooping good time.

Audrey will be remembered for her love of family and friends, faith, and her special grandma treats.

  We would like to thank the amazing staff at Livingstone Manor for their compassionate loving care over the past two years.

  She can now rest in peace.

  Visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

  Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

 Memorial donations to Atwood Lions Club or Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.

Brian G. Tucker

December 14, 1962 ~ November 30, 2018

After a courageous battle with cancer, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 30, 2018, Mr. Brian George Tucker of Listowel, in his 56th year.

  Husband of Lee-Ann (Buchanan) Tucker. Father of Jordan Tucker of Stratford, and Brody Tucker and Emily Erb of Listowel.

 Son of George and Audrey Tucker, and son-in-law of Jessie Buchanan, all of Listowel. Brother of Jacqui and Don Friedman of Listowel, and Shelley and Greg Crummer of Elmwood, and brother-in-law of Pauline and Earl Steffler of Waterloo, and Cheryl and Alan Cleland of Listowel. Remembered also by his nieces and nephews.

  Predeceased by his father-in-law Alex Buchanan.

 Brian loved his family and his community. He served on the Listowel Minor Hockey Executive for many years, and volunteered as a coach and trainer for 15 years. He belonged to the North Perth Fire Department for 20 years, and was on the Recreational Advisory Committee for Listowel. Brian worked at Home Hardware for 28 years.

  Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, on Wednesday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Don McCallum officiating.

  Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

  Reception to follow at the Listowel Golf Course.

 Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital, Steve Kerr Memorial Complex, North Perth Community Hospice, or Cancer Society appreciated.
