Irvene Jewell Tucker  (1922 ~ 1996)

 

9.5.2.1. First child of George Milford Tucker and Reta E. Jewell, Irvene Jewell Tucker, was born May 4, 1922, in Dartford, Percy Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

  He married Lillian Marjorie Jean Dunk Avey, daughter of George William Dunk and Jessie Blair Stewart, December 3, 1955, in Smithfield, Brighton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario and had three children:

  • (9.5.2.1.2)  Marlene Edith  (1948 ~ )

  • (9.5.2.1.3)  Sandra Blair  (1950 ~ )

 

  Irvene J. Tucker died June 26, 1996, aged 74 years, in  and Jean Dunk Avey Tucker died December 9, 2020, aged 92 years in Cobourg, Ontario and are interred at Macklin's Cemetery.

Irvene J. Tucker

At the Cobourg and District General Hospital on Wednesday, June 26, 1996 in his 75th year, Irvene Tucker, beloved husband of Jean of Cobourg and dear father of Bonnie Merry of Campbellford, Marlene Avey of Cobourg and Sandy Provost of Cobourg. Sadly missed by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Friday, June 28, 1996 at 11 a.m. Interment Macklin Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Trinity United Church, Cobourg. Jean Dunk Avey Tucker

December 29, 1926 - December 9, 2020

Peacefully at her home on Wednesday December 9th, 2020 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Maxwell Avey and Irvene Tucker. Loving mother of Bonnie Merry (Douglas), Marlene Avey and Sandra Provost (Bruce Black). Dear grandmother of 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. A private family service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg followed by interment in Macklin Cemetery. George W. Dunk

November 29, 1877 ~ February 25, 1949

George William Dunk, aged 71 years, passed away at his residence at R.R.3, Brighton, on February 25, 1949. The deceased gentleman was a native of Seymour East, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Albert Dunk. He had been ill for about five weeks.  A resident of Brighton township for the past twenty years, he had previously dwelt in Seymour East. He had always been a farmer.

  The late Mr. Dunk was active in Progressive Conservative party circles, and in his earlier days when in Seymour township, he had been an active member of Sentinel Orange Lodge No. 2322.

  Besides his wife, the former Jessie Blair Stewart, he leaves to mourn his passing his children, Mrs. John Reid (Mae), Oshawa; Mr. William A. Dunk, Brighton; Mrs. Thomas Ramsey (Florence), Windsor; Mr. Raymond G. Dunk, Brighton; Mr. Leslie Neil Dunk at home; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Howes, Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. Ronald Avey, Otterville, and eleven grandchildren.

  The funeral service was conducted at the Cummings Funeral Home, Brighton, at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 28th.  Rev. J. E. Anderson officiated. Pallbearers were Messrs. Ernest Brown, Ernest Best, Willard Thackaberry, Arthur Dunnett, Percy Carr, Thomas Peister. There were many lovely floral tributes including those of relatives, friends and neighbours and the Progressive Conservative Association.

  Interment was made in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brighton. Campbellford Herald, Mar. 9, 1949.

     

Jessie B. Stewart Dunk

June 16, 1884 ~ January 14, 1971

Funeral service for Mrs. George Dunk, 87, of Cobourg, was conducted by Rev. Kenneth McAllister of Smithfield United Church and Rev. E. C. Kelloway at the Templar Funeral Home, January 16, 1971.

  The former Jessie B. Stewart, she was born in Seymour East, daughter of the late William Stewart and Jane Milne. She was predeceased by her husband 22 years ago, and during recent years made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Irvene Tucker in Cobourg.

  Mrs. Dunk is survived by seven children, Mae (Mrs. John Reid) Port Perry; Florence (Mrs. Thomas Ramsay) Windsor; Raymond of Brampton, Leslie of Stouffville, Arthur of Streetsville, Clarence of Brighton, and Jean, Mrs. Tucker of Cobourg; also 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Sons William and Elwood predeceased their mother.

 Pallbearers were grandsons William, James, John, Leslie and Edward Dunk, and grandson-in-law Peter Provost. Spring interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brighton. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Feb. 5, 1971.
