Thomas William Harold Spear (1897 ~ 1981)
9.6.1. First child of Adeline L. Adams and James Spear, Thomas William 'Harold' Spear, was born April 26, 1897, in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.
He married (1) Jennie Marshall, daughter of William Marshall and Elizabeth Patterson, September 1, 1928, in Grafton, Haldimand Twp., Ontario and had one child:

He married (2) Annie Ardell Honeywell MacKenzie, daughter of James Honeywell and Maggie McVeety, c. 1950, in Cobourg, Ontario.
T. W. Harold Spear died May 21, 1981, aged 84 years and Jennie Marshall Spear died November 17, 1929, aged 27 years in Cobourg, Ontario, and are interred at Cobourg Union Cemetery.

A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Young, Grafton, on September 1, 1928, of Miss Jennie Marshall a native of Orland, but late of Cobourg, and Mr. Harold Spear, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Spear, Haldimand Twp. The bride is a niece of Mrs. Reuben Young, Grafton. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. W. Smith of Colborne, assisted by the Pastor, Rev. J. M. Walker.
The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. R. Young, C.P.R. foreman, and looked a charming bride, dressed in pale blue, carrying a large bouquet of flowers, after the ceremony and signing of the register, all sat down to a sumptuous luncheon. Congratulations were given and toasts responded to. Among the guests who attended the wedding was Mrs. [Sarah] Crooks of Belleville. The bride and bridegroom accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Macklin, sister of the bridegroom amid showers of confetti, left by their auto to spend a few days with Toronto friends. Harold Spear
Thomas William Harold Spear age 84, Cobourg, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 1981 at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg. Husband of the late Annie Honeywell. Father of William Spear, Toronto. Brother of Jennie Macklin, Smiths Falls. Funeral service was held on Monday at 2 p.m. from the Jewell Funeral Home, 301 Division St., Cobourg. Rev. Richard Cooke officiated. Interment in Cobourg Union Cemetery. Cobourg Daily Star, May 23, 1981.
Jennie Marshall Spear
April 1, 1902 ~ November 17, 1929
Twice within a month has the shadow of death fallen upon the home in Haldimand Tp., formerly occupied by son, Mr. Harold Spear and his wife, Jennie Marshall. Four weeks ago Mrs. James Spear died after a long illness.
On Thursday, November 7, 1929, a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spear at the Cobourg General Hospital and about three o’clock on Sunday, November 17, 1929 the young mother passed away. The baby, which is still at the hospital, is doing well.
Mrs. Spear, before her marriage was Miss Jennie Marshall, she was twenty-seven years of age. Besides her husband and infant child she is survived by her father, mother and two sisters, residing in Ireland and by her aunt, Mrs. Young of Grafton.
The funeral took place in Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the family residence in Haldimand Tp., to Cobourg Union Cemetery. Cobourg World, Nov. 21, 1929.

Annie Ardell Spear at Sidbrook Hospital, Cobourg, on Wednesday, January 24, 1979. Annie Honeywell, wife of Harold Spear, Cobourg and the late John Johnstone MacKenzie. Dear mother of Mabel (Mrs. Ted Burns), Amherstview and Bruce, Eddystone. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg, on Friday, January 26 at 2 p.m. Interment Cobourg Union Cemetery.
