Jennie Louisa Spear (1901 ~ 2000)
9.6.2. Second child of Adeline L. Adams and James Spear, Jennie Louisa Spear, was born October 2, 1901, in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.
She married Wilbert Rosevear Macklin, son of George Staples Macklin and Laura Ann Eleanor Rosevear, August 17, 1921, in Cobourg, Ontario and had five children:

Jennie L. Spear Macklin died April 17, 2000, aged 98 years, in Smiths Falls, Ontario and Wilbert R. Macklin died September 23, 1960, aged 59 years in Cobourg, Ontario and are interred at Macklin’s Cemetery.

The marriage took place quietly at the Congregational parsonage here on Wednesday evening, August 17, 1921, Rev. H. A. Carson, officiating, of Mr. Wilbert Rosevear Macklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Macklin, Fenella, to Miss Jennie Louise Spear, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Spear, Front Road E. Mr. and Mrs. Macklin left for a trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls, after which they will take up residence in Fenella. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Aug. 19, 1921.

Jennie Louisa Macklin, went peacefully to be with the Lord from Broadview Nursing Home on April 17, 2000, in her 99th year. Jennie Louisa Spear beloved wife of the late Wilbert Macklin, loving mother of Harol (Clara) of Napanee, Marguerite, May (deceased) George (Zeita) of Picton, Sidney (Janet) of Toronto. Grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of 14. Memorial service at Free Methodist Church on April 29, 2 p.m. Interment at Macklin Cemetery, Roseneath. Donations to the charity of choice. Wilbert R. Macklin
December 29, 1900 ~ September 23, 1960
Resident of Haldimand Township, Wilbert R. Macklin, of Fenella, died September 23, 1960 in Cobourg General Hospital in his 60th year, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Macklin was born and educated in Fenella, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Macklin. He was a member of Free Methodist Church, Warkworth.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Louisa Spear, daughters Marguerite and May; sons Harol of Odessa, George and Sidney, Fenella; grandchildren, Glenn Macklin, Odessa; Kenneth and Beverley Macklin of Fenella; a brother Herbert G. Macklin, Wallaceburg. Another brother, Percy Macklin, died in 1948.
Pallbearers were Beecher McDonald, N. C. Leach, Clifton Rogers, Herb Pratt, Ed Pratt, Clarence Boyce. Floral tributes were carried by Gordon Pratt, Ewart Hardy, Carman Atkinson, Reg Jewell, Clare Harper, John Atkinson, Frank George, Hilton Jewell, Elmer Sherwin, Bob Denham, Warren Atkinson, Fred Ferguson, Jim Waldie, George Bull, Eric Sandercock, William Brownson.
Interment was in Macklin’s Cemetery. Cobourg World, Sept. 29, 1960.
