Samuel Albert Adams  (1869 ~ 1942)

 

9.7. Seventh child of Thomas Adams and Jane James, Samuel Albert Adams, was born July 7, 1869, in Fenella, Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

  He married Naomi Jane Waldie, daughter of Robert Waldie and Isabella Adams, September 9, 1915, in Toronto, York Co., Ontario and had one child:

  Samuel A. Adams died September 10, 1942, aged 73 years, in Fenella, Ontario and Naomi J. Waldie Adams died January 9, 1962, aged 75 years in Cobourg, Ontario and are interred at Macklin’s Cemetery.

Samuel A. Adams

Funeral services for the late Samuel Adams were held on Saturday afternoon at his residence and were largely attended. Services at the house and graveside were conducted by Rev. E. H. Unstead.

  Mr. Adams, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adams, lived his entire lifetime quietly at the homestead at Fenella, where his death occurred Thursday afternoon [September 10, 1942], after an illness of several months. Deceased was in his 73rd year.

  He is survived by his wife and a son, Albert; also two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Macklin and Mrs. Vernon Brenton, of Fenella.

  Interment was in Macklin’s Cemetery.

  The pallbearers were James Knox, Arthur Murphy, Frank George, James Curtis, Charles Baker and Fred Talling. There were many floral tributes from relatives and friends. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Sept. 17, 1942.

 

Naomi J. Waldie Adams

June 20, 1886 ~ January 9, 1962

The funeral of Mrs. Sam Adams of Centreton was held January 22, 1962 at McMillan Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. R. F. Darke.

  The former Naomi Waldie, 75, was born in Dakota, U.S.A., oldest daughter of Robert Waldie and Isabella Adams, coming to Canada to Grafton. After her marriage to Sam Adams of Fenella she resided there until his death some years ago when she moved to Centreton.

  An only son Albert predeceased his mother. Her death occurred in Cobourg Hospital; deceased fractured her hip at her home on Christmas Day and had been hospitalized since.

  Surviving are two sisters, Miss Christina Waldie, Centreton and Mrs. Orra Brown, Fenella; a brother, Thomas died some years ago.

  Pallbearers were Frank Down, Clifford Leach, James Waldie, William Montgomery, Heber Adams, and Floyd Murphy. Interment was in Bethany Cemetery. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Jan. 24, 1962.

 

Albert Adams

March 25, 1919 ~ April 4, 1948

Roseneath. Funeral service for Albert Adams was held on Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 1948, at McMillan’s Funeral Home, Roseneath. In his 30th year, he was a son of Mrs. Samuel Adams, Centreton, recently of Fenella, and the late Samuel Adams. His death occurred quite suddenly on Sunday, April 4, 1948 at his mother’s residence.

  Rev. R. C. White officiated and burial was at Bethany (Macklin’s) Cemetery.

  Mr. Adams is survived by his mother. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Apr. 15, 1948.
