Albert College Chapel, Belleville, was the scene of the wedding of Dawn Elizabeth Hallett and Eugene Paul Macklin on Saturday, September 11, 1965. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace C. Hallett, 200 Dundas St. E., Trenton, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Macklin, Centre St., Brighton.

Rev. C. A. McLaren, Brighton, officiated before an altar banked with bronze and mint green ‘mums and lighted tapers. Mrs. Lenna Baker was the organist and Garth Allen was the soloist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Empire gown of French lace and georgette. The high fitting bodice had a rounded neckline and lily-point sleeves and the skirt fell in soft folds of georgette over silk. Her double-length silk floor-length illusion veil was held in place with a ring of georgette and lace and she carried a bouquet of gardenias, stephanotis and fern.

The matron-of-honor, Mrs. Neil Newton, cousin of the bride, and the junior bridesmaids, Miss Mary Hallett, sister of the bride, and Miss Diane Dorland, niece of the groom, were dressed alike in floor-length gowns of gold delustered satin with brown velvet sashes. They wore matching shoes and head pieces, white gloves and carried colonial bouquets of bronze and green mint ‘mums.

The groom was attended by Dr. William Glave, Aurora, while the ushers were Kenneth Steif and Neil Butters.

The reception was held at the Balmoral Room of the Glenburnie, where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing an off-white A-line sheath of brocade with a matching full-length coat. She wore a brown feather hat, brown accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. The groom’s mother assisted wearing an American beauty red chiffon dress with lace overjacket, matching accessories and a white carnation corsage.

For a wedding trip to Vermont and Maine, the bride chose a sand wool two-piece suit with an orange chiffon scarf, brown accessories and a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses.

Out of town guests were from Toronto, Oshawa, Cobourg, New York, Vancouver, Ottawa, Aurora, Fenella, Stayner and Enniskillen.

The couple will take up residence in Toronto where the groom will continue his studies in dentistry at the University of Toronto, and the bride will remain on staff at the Hospital For Sick Children. Trenton Trentonian, Sept. 15, 1965.
