June Mildred Irma Butters  (1934 ~ 2023)

 

9.8.4.1. First child of Muriel A. Macklin and A. Hayden Butters, June Mildred Irma Butters, was born June 30, 1934, in Harwood, Hamilton Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario.

  She married (1) Douglas Ronald Haynes, son of Henry Barber Haynes and Emily Louisa Eastwood, July 26, 1956, in Baltimore, Ontario and had two children:

  • (9.8.4.1.2)  Richard Douglas  (1966 ~ )

 

  She married (2) Arthur 'Bruce' Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Collins, August 13, 2005, in Port Hope, Ontario.

 

  June M. Butters Haynes Collins died March 2, 2023, aged 88 years, in Port Hope, Ontario and Douglas R. Haynes died October 1, 2000, aged 68 years, in Oshawa, Ontario.

Passed away at Empire Crossing Retirement Living, Port Hope on Thursday, March 2, 2023. June Butters beloved wife of the late Bruce Collins and Douglas Haynes. Dear mother of Jocqueline (Jack Holmes) and Richard Haynes (Diane) and grandmother of Hunter and Connor. Sister of Neil Butters, Catherine McLean and the late Lenore Thoman. Memorial service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 33 Pine Street North, Port Hope, Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. Northumberland News, Mar. 7, 2023.

Douglas R. Haynes

October 25, 1932 ~ December 1, 2000

Suddenly at Oshawa on Friday, December 1, 2000. Douglas Haynes, beloved husband of June Butters of Cobourg. Dear father of Jocqueline Holmes and her husband Jack of Toronto and Richard Haynes and his wife Michelle of Fort Myers, Florida. Loving grandfather of Hunter Haynes. Dear brother of Edna Jennings of Vancouver, George of Toronto and John of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by Henry, Rose Scott and Edwin. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg, on Wednesday, December 6 at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 7-9. In memoriam donations may be made to the Cobourg Auxiliary of the Northumberland Heath Care Centre. Cobourg Daily Star, Dec. 4, 2000.

A. Bruce Collins

August 7, 1935 ~ November 10, 2017

We are deeply saddened to announce Bruce's passing on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Northumberland Hills Hospital. He was a loving and special man and meant so much to his family, relations and friends. Deeply loved by his wife of thirteen years, June, and much admired father of Anthony, Michele (Erik) and their children, Carmen, Madeleine and Christian. June's children, Jocqueline (Jack) and Richard (Michelle) and their children Hunter and Connor. Predeceased by his late wife Julie and their daughter Rita. Bruce and Julie were married in 1959 and enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Beloved brother of David (Julie) and his late sister Margaret. Bruce was a graduate of Ryerson University and he enjoyed a very successful career with Domtar Packaging. Upon retirement, he loved to garden, travel and visited many cities and countries around the world. Golf was one of his passions and he was a member of the Dalewood Golf Club. Bruce will also be remembered for his fondness of music and passionately involved with St. John's Anglican Church in Port Hope. He particularly loved singing in the choir. Bruce was very community oriented. He was one of the founding members of NorthShore Probus where he held various positions with the executive. Bruce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a proud man and was appreciated for his great sense of humour. The family thanks the compassionate doctors and nurses at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill St. N., Port Hope, Wednesday November 15th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, Port Hope on Thursday, November 16th at 11:00 a.m. Light lunch reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Donations can be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada or St. John's Anglican Church, Port Hope.
