----- OBITUARY -----

Joan R. Bradbury

Joan Rae Bradbury, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bradbury, Division St., died at her parent’s home on Friday, January 27, 1939 after an illness of two weeks. She was five years and two months old.

While her condition was first observed two weeks ago, it was expected last week that she was on the road to recovery and her passing came as a distinct shock.

The funeral was held from her grandparent’s home, Spencer St., Sunday afternoon, January 29, the service being taken by Canon P. J. Dykes of St. Peter’s Church of England. Four choir boys from St. Peter’s acted as pallbearers.

Surviving are her parents, two sisters, Helen and Barbara; one brother, Vernon; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bradbury, Spencer St., and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Brenton, Fenella.

Interment took place in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Many floral tributes and gifts were received from friends and neighbors and indicated the affection in which the child was held. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, Feb. 2, 1939.
