James Vernon Bradbury  (1936 ~ 1944)

 

9.9.1.4. Fourth child of Flossie C. Brenton and James B. Bradbury, James 'Vernon' Bradbury, was born December 22, 1936, in Cobourg, Ontario.

 

  J. Vernon Bradbury died June 1, 1944, aged 7 years, in Toronto, Ontario and is interred at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

J. Vernon Bradbury

James Vernon Bradbury, seven and a half years of age, only son of Staff Sergeant and Mrs. J. B. Bradbury, 48 James St., Cobourg, died Thursday morning, June 1, 1944 in Sick Children’s Hospital, Toronto, to which he had been rushed the previous evening when suddenly stricken with an undetermined illness.

  Born in Cobourg, the boy attended George Street Public School until the day before his fatal illness. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Helen and Barbara.

  The funeral was held privately on Saturday afternoon from McFadyen’s funeral chapel to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, with Rev. H. R. Deering conducting services. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

 Pallbearers were two uncles, Roy Cowling of Fenella and L.A.C. James Waldie of Toronto; Staff Sgt. Fred Edgell of Petawawa and Gilbert Wicks of Cobourg. Cobourg Sentinel-Star, June 8, 1944.
