Marguerite Astephen  (1920 ~ )

 

5. Fifth child of Abraham A. Astephen and Rose Balah, Marguerite Astephen, was born February 2, 1920, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. 

  She married Clarence Sylvester Hilcox, son of Verna Jane “Veronica” Hilcox, October 14, 1944, in Kingston, Ontario and had five children:

 

  • (5.1)  Phillip Stephen  (1949 ~ 2006)    

  • (5.2)  Elizabeth Ann  (1952 ~ )  

  • (5.3)  Janet Marie  (1954 ~ )  

  • (5.4)  Alan Egon  (1958 ~ )  

  • (5.5)  Patricia Jean  (1962 ~ )  

 

 Marguerite Astephen Hilcox currently resides in Stratford, Ontario and Clarence S. Hilcox died May 12, 1996, aged 72 years in Stratford, Ontario and is interred at McTavish Cemetery.

Clarence S. Hilcox

January 18, 1924 ~ May 12, 1996

Clarence S. Hilcox, aged 72 of 42 Campbell Court, Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, May 12, 1996. Born in Michigan he was the son of the late William and Verna Hilcox. He lived in Tavistock from 1947 until moving to Stratford in 1985 and was employed with his uncle at H. E. Birckholtz of Tavistock in South American Exports. He had served in the Canadian Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #518, Tavistock. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Beloved husband of Marguerite Astephen whom he married on October 14, 1944 in Kingston. Loving father of Phillip Hilcox of Stratford, Beth Ann Kress and her husband Randy of New Hamburg, Janet Davidson and her husband Dr. Ronald of Victoria, B.C., Alan Hilcox and his wife Joan of New Hamburg and Patricia Hilcox of Stratford. Dear grandfather of eleven grand-children. Predeceased by a brother Albert Hilcox. Parish prayers will be said at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Wilfred Bourque will be Celebrant. Interment to follow in McTavish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Memorial Building Fund of Immaculate Conception Church, the Palliative Care Unit of the Stratford General Hospital or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the funeral home.
