Nick Glowaski (1879 ~ 1961)
4. Fourth child of Antonius Glowacki and Catharina Pilipiec, Nicolaus “Nick” Glowaski (né Glowacki), was born December 24, 1879, in Horodnica, Husiatyn, Galicia [now in Ukraine].
He married Paulina “Polly” Swiderski, daughter of Wasyl Swiderski and Maria Kleam, February 12, 1913, in Sifton, Manitoba and had six children:

Nick Glowaski died January 1, 1961, aged 81 years, in Winnipegosis, Manitoba and Polly Swiderski Glowaski Swayne died February 5, 1970, aged 73 years, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Nick Glowaski
December 24, 1879 ~ January 1, 1961
Nick Glowaski of Winnipegosis passed away, Sunday, January 1, 1961 at the age of 81 years. Funeral Services were conducted from the Ukrainian Catholic church, Wednesday January 4, with father E. Pilkiw officiating. Pallbearers were: Nick Flysack, Nick Stefishen, Mike Hryhoruk, Mike Pomozibida, Nick Hryhoruk, Andrew Krupalo. Sneath funeral service was in charge.
Nick Glowaski was born in Austria and came to Winnipegosis district in 1906, making him one of the old time farmers of that area. He farmed until he retired in 1958. He was active in church affairs and in the choir of the Ukrainian Catholic church.
He married Polly Swiderski in Sifton in 1913.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son and three daughters: John, Brandon; Mrs. Steve Perpeluk (Mary), Dauphin; and Helen and Anne, Toronto; three brothers: Mike, Saskatoon, Sask.; Peter, Oshawa, Ont.; John, Winnipegosis, and two grandchildren. Dauphin Herald, Jan. 11, 1961.
Pauline Swiderski Glowaski Swanye
August 19, 1895 ~ February 5, 1970
Mrs. Pauline Swanye (nee Glowaski), aged 73 years, wife of Fred Swanye, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 1970 in the St. Vital Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Swunycha, Western Ukraine, she came to Portage la Prairie 52 years ago (1918) and was making her home at 509 - 5th St. N.W.
Surviving are her husband Fred, one son and three daughters: John Glowaski of Brandon, Manitoba; Mrs. Helen Mournahan of Toronto, Ont.; Miss Annie Glowaski also of Toronto; and Mrs. Mary Perpeliuk of Dauphin, Manitoba. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Patricia Peeh, Rorketon, Manitoba, and one brother Alex Swiderski of Winnipegosis and two grandchildren.
Prayers will be said Monday, February 9 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of the McMaster Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 10 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the McMaster Funeral Home, Royal Road at Dufferin Avenue. Rev. H. L. Henderson will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Portage la Prairie Daily Graphic, Feb. 9, 1970.
