Beatrice Glowaski  (1920 ~ 2008)

 

7.5. Fifth child of Peter Glowaski and Martha Strychalski, Petrunka “Beatrice” Glowaski, was born August 8, 1920, in Winnipegosis, Manitoba.  

 She married John Joseph Smegal, son of John Smegal (né Smagala) and Juliana Madej, May 20, 1938, in Toronto, Ontario and had two children:

• (7.5.2)  Edward Joseph  (1949 ~ )

 

  Beatrice Glowaski Smegal died May 12, 2008, aged 87 years in Westland, Michigan and John J. Smegal died March 20, 2004, aged 86 years in Madison Heights, Michigan.

Beatrice Glowaski Smegal

August 8, 1920 ~ May 12, 2008

Beatrice Smegal (nee Glowaski) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 12, 2008 in Westland, Michigan. Beloved wife of the late John (2004) for 65 years. Dear mother of Edward and the late Janice (2007). Lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Rose Dale, Margie Diskey, Paul Grant and Tom Grant. Predeceased by sisters Anne Pihan, Kay Kolynko, Teany Boyar, Mary Mothersill and brothers Phillip Glowaski, Michael Glowaski and Peter Glowaski.  

 Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, May 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. At St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan on Saturday, March 20, 2004. John J. Smegal, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Beatrice Glowaski Michigan. Loving father of Janice Brooks of California and Edward Smegal of Kincardine, Ontario. Dearly remembered by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Stan, Ben, Frank, Mary and the late Walter and Steve. Relatives and friends may call at McIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home Ltd, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, March 26th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby.
