Marjorie Glowaski  (1938 ~ 2021)

 

7.15. Fifteenth child of Peter Glowaski and Martha Strychalski, Marjorie Glowaski, was born October 26, 1938, in Oshawa, Ontario.  

  She married Frank Diskey, son of John Diskey and Mary Maryniuk, November 3, 1956, in Oshawa, Ontario and had three children:

 

  • (7.15.1)  Ronald Frank  (1963 ~ )

  • (7.15.2)  Rose Marie  (1963 ~ )

  • (7.15.3)  Nancy Joanne  (1968 ~ )

 

  Marjorie Glowaski Diskey died January 9, 2021, aged 82 years in Oshawa, Ontario, and is interred at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Glowaski—Diskey

The marriage of Marjorie Glowaski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Glowaski, and Frank Diskey, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Diskey, all of Oshawa, was solemnized recently at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church.

  The Rev. Philip Coffey officiated and the wedding music was played by Miss Jean Kolodzie.

  Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a full-length gown of white lace over satin featuring a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. A coronet of sequins and pearls held her finger-tip veil and she carried a bouquet of red roses.

  Miss Elizabeth Diskey was maid-of-honor in yellow organza. The bridesmaids, Miss Janice Smegal and Miss Hazel Evenden were both in aqua and little Miss Elizabeth Holodryzuk was flower girl in yellow organdy and lace. All wore matching headdresses and carried bronze and yellow chrysanthemums. Master Patrick Mothersill acted as ring bearer. 

  Mr. Peter Glowaski preformed the duties of best man and ushering were Mr. John Diskey and Mr. Andrew Kucinko.

  A reception was held in the hall at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. For the occasion the bride’s mother and the bridegroom’s mother were in navy blue crepe with matching accessories.

  Later the couple left for a wedding trip to Windsor and Detroit and will live in Oshawa. For travelling the bride wore a powder blue suit with pink and black accessories. Oshawa Times, Nov. 26, 1956.

Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 9, 2021, Marjorie Diskey in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Frank Diskey for 64 years. Loving and devoted Mother to Ron, Rose Catulli (Carlo), and Nancy. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Alexa, Cameron, Adriana and Cristina. Dear sister of Rose Dale. Dear daughter of the late Peter Glowaski and Martha Strychalski. Predeceased by sisters, Anne Pihan, Beatrice Smegal, Kathleen Kolynko, Teany Boyar, Mary Mothersill and brothers, Phillip, Paul, Michael, Tom, Peter and granddaughter Angela. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dearest friend to Shirley Anne Williamson, Joan Lafabiana and the late Hazel Arnburg. Resting at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held on Wednesday, January 13th. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.
