----- MARRIAGE -----

Glowaski—Proskin

St. George’s Greek Catholic Ukrainian Church was the scene of a double ring ceremony on Saturday afternoon when Mildred Proskin, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Proskin, became the bride of Michael Glowaski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Glowaski, all of Oshawa. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. C. Pereyma.

The bride wore a gown of white velvet. A small stand-up collar and three-quarter length sleeves fashioned the lace bolero and the full skirt fell into a long train. White ostrich plumes held her finger-tip veil and she carried a bouquet of red roses.

Mrs. Michael Meronek, who was matron-of-honor for her sister, wore rust velvet. The senior bridesmaids, Miss Helena Sadler and Miss Norma Steeves, were both in moss green. Miss Olive Marie Zacerowny, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid in rust velvet and carried a nosegay of pink carnations and yellow and white roses. All the attendants wore gowns indentically styled to that of the bride, but with velvet boleros. Master Ivan Wayne Burke, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

Mr. Frank Zarowny performed the duties of best man and the ushers were Mr. Hugh Smith and Mr. Norman Pihan.

Following a reception held at St. George’s parish hall, Mr. and Mrs. Glowaski left for a wedding trip to Windsor and Detroit and on their return will live in Oshawa. For travelling the bride chose a pale blue and black brocade dress with black velvet accessories and a brown fur coat. Oshawa Daily Times-Gazette, Jan. 23, 1952.
