Paul Grant  (1935 ~ 2024)

 

7.7. Seventh child of Peter Glowaski and Martha Strychalski, Paul Frank Grant (né Glowaski), was born December 16, 1924, in Oshawa, Ontario.  

 He married Marie Margaret Ellen Lalonde, daughter of Leo Lalonde and Rosalba Contois, September 14, 1946, in Penetanguishene, Ontario and had three children:

 

• (7.7.1)  Linda Marguerite Elaine  (1947 ~ )

• (7.7.2)  James Paul Peter  (1949 ~ )

• (7.7.2)  Robert Leo Paul  (1960 ~ )

 

  Paul F. Grant died June 18, 2010, aged 85 years and Margaret E. Lalonde Grant died December 2, 2000, aged 75 years in Oshawa, Ontario, and are interred at Thornton Cemetery.

Paul F. Grant

December 16, 1924 ~ June 18, 2010

WWII Veteran, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, PPG (Duplate) Retired ~ Peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2010 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 86th year.  

  Paul has “Gone Fishing” with his late wife Margaret Grant (nee LaLonde), December 2, 2000. 

 Paul will be missed by his daughter Linda (Bruce) Johnston, Hampton, and his sons Jim (Kim) Grant, Hampton, Robert (Brenda) Grant, Minden. Loved grandfather of Derrick (Karen) Johnston, Hampton, Jamie (Dawn) Johnston, Elizabethville, Jamie Grant, Vancouver, Kailey Grant, Hampton, Robert Lee, Cory and Crystal Grant all of Minden, and his great grandchildren Cody and Blair Johnston, Elizabethville, and Kaylyn Margaret Grant, Hampton. Paul will be remembered by his two sisters Margie (Frank) Diskey, Oshawa, and Rose Dale, Oshawa. Paul is predeceased by his sisters Kay Kolynko, Anne Pihan, Teany Boyar, Mary Mothersill and Bea Smegal, and his brothers Phil Glowaski, Michael Glowaski, Peter Glowaski and Tom Grant.  

 Family and friends may visit at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Monday June 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.  

 Funeral Service in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22nd at 1pm. Interment Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. 

  Memorial donations to the RS McLaughlin Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Margaret Lalonde Grant

December 13, 1924 ~ December 2, 2000

Suddenly at the Toronto General Hospital, Margaret Marie Grant on Saturday, December 2, 2000. Dear daughter of the late Leo and Rosalba Lalonde. Beloved wife of Paul Grant. Dear mother of Linda Johnston and her husband Bruce, James Grant and his wife Kim, Robert Grant and his wife Brenda. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Derrick and Jamie Johnston, Jamie and Kailey Grant, Robert Lee, Corey and Crystal Grant, and by her great-grandchildren Cody and Blair Johnston. Dear sister of Helen Shewchuk of Oshawa, Wilfred Lalonde of Penetang, Irene Bugg of Penetang, and the late Clifford and Albert Lalonde. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King St. E. where the funeral service was held in the Chapel on Monday, December 4, 2000 at 11 a.m. Cremation.  Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
